Vehicle Detail
VIN: 9A30F260345 Driving History: This Fairlane has had 3 owners: The first two were a father and son. When the father passed, the son took it over and drove the Fairlane until 1990, where it then sat for 6 years in his yard, in 1996 I bought the car and have owned it since. This Fairlane has never been involved in any collisions with the first two owners, that is what the seller said to me at time of purchase, and I have not had any incidents while in my ownership. This car runs and drives, I was a swing shift employee driving in a 7 County jurisdiction, the Fairlane easily put on 500 miles a week, as well as a few trips to Florida from Wisconsin. This vehicle has been my primary vehicle for 15 years, and has only had 2 "break downs" (a flat tire, and a fuse blew to the computer). The Fairlane gets about 16mgp in town and 20-22 Highway mpg. The engine information: No power steering, no power brakes. This is referred to as "Manual Steering and Manual Brakes". The vehicle could easily be converted to a power system. The engine is a 5.0L Fuel Injected 302 v8 out of a 1990 Lincoln town car, with a automatic overdrive transmission The original engine is a 302ci v8 with a 2 barrel carb and a FMX transmission it is still available with the original transmission and 2 spare AoD transmission. At time of the engine change, the donor engine had 75,400 on the odometer, the current mileage is at 102,000. The original engine has 154,370 miles on it. The fairlane has all round disc brakes, and a 3.73 ratio 9inch rear end that converts to 2.80 ratio on the highway with the AoD transmission. The undercarriage and frame were sprayed about 15 years ago with a protective coating, the spots with the most rust are behind the front wheels and the underside corners of the trunk (where the wheels kick up debris). The body: Below the rust spots are described, from a percentage perspective the Fairlane is 85% intact. This amount is created by having 3 different body shops look at the vehicle. Interior: The interior is good, about 90% intact, there are 3 , 3 inch slits in the ceiling on driver side, the front bench is worn with some tears, and the back seat has 2 tears about 6 inches long. Paint is worn where you would rest your left arm on door while driving Left side: The front left fender is in need of replacement, it was hit by a tree many years ago putting a dent on top, i never replaced it, and now there is a fist sized rust hole at the bottom, a fender from a fairlane catalog is about 250. The left side door is good, there are very few penny size or small surface rust spots on the very bottom. The rear left panel is good, on its major side surface, there is one golf ball sized rust bubble behind the tire well, and some rush patches of rust no bigger than 3 inches on the inside tire well. The trunk of the vehicle has rust along the bumper mounts on the inside of trunk, other wise the trunk is sound Right side: The front right fender has a dent near the top about 4 inches long, and some surface rust at the bottom behind tire. The door has a few penny or smaller sized surface rust stops on bottom of door. The right rear panel has some rust around the edge of the tire well, 2 inch patch or smaller. Overall - A sound classic muscle car with a stable platform and some but not an overwhelming amount of restorative care required. Email through ebay for pictures if interested.
