A manual transmission is connected to the 3.4 liter 296 hp rear-mounted, water-cooled six cylinder. The car is solid and the upgraded OEM wheels provides a solid drive at any speed on the expressway while being agile cruising around town. It had its major 60,000 mile maintenance completed at Automotive Techniques in Novi, Michigan. Mobil 1 W40 oil changes, new Bilstein front struts and rear shocks, new sway bar link, new front wheel bearings, Toyo T1R 225/40 and 265/35 tires, new ignition coil, new brake rotors and pads, and an overpriced OEM electrical switch for the alarm and a new several hundred dollar master key imported from Porsche in Germany. The car also has an upgraded Pioneer stereo with Alpine amp and speakers. Although I never replaced the clutch while I’ve owned the car, it and the transmission are rock solid. The air and heat work very well too. The cars comes with the official Porsche 1999 brochure, large owners’ guide, and car cover.Bottom line, do not be fooled by the other's with pics that are doctor'd or the lowest price Porsche. You'll regret it. This Carrera is 12 years old and very well maintained but the paint (up close) gives it a real man's 7pm shadow. This sample has character and a civilized but distinct exhaust note. I purchased this for $23,000 and immediately dropped over seven thousand dollars into it. With this Carrera, you can literally buy, drive, and thoroughly enjoy. I've gone thru the headaches on my dime for you.
