Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1971 Camaro RS. It has correct copo-style three-piece rear spoiler, front spoiler, split bumper front end with correct light configuration, 150 mph speedo, 7K tach, clock, Factory A/C, clock, console, 10 bolt rear --all noted 1971 RS features. It has an aftermarket steel cowl hood with high-rise Edelbrock alum intake and carb for true cowl induction. Built non-matching 350 Engine is very strong and has custom color-matched M/S valve covers and breather assembly for a nice, custom look. Runs as good as it looks. Ran it to 5500 rpm on dyno two weeks ago and generated 300 +/- hp without any tuning (consistently on three runs--that is strong). Add a hotter secondary and tune the carb and you can easily have more dirt-cheap horsepower if you wish. Beyond that, there are numerous upgrades available to Chevy's 350 engine that could put this car to 350 hp or more without major expense. Under the hood, you also see the new chrome alternator, new radiator with integrated trans oil cooler, water pump, fan, pulleys, belts, distributor, coil, wires, plugs, lines, hoses, wiring, A/C compressor/lines. All work has been done over the past 4 years by previous owner and some by me. As previously mentioned, this rebuilt engine is strong, virtually new and in great running condition. Engine compartment is detailed and clean. New custom exhaust sounds fantastic. In 2009 I replaced the rear end pinion & bearing, ring gear and axle bearings. Lower ball joints up front as well in 2010. Suspension, undercarriage, pans, body in GC. Great body with all panels aligning and doors operating well. Interior is like new with only minor issues and a few imperfections. Stored in climate controlled garage. CLASSIC Hugger orange paint with Dover White stripes and a black interior. The paint is rich and deep with a reflective clear coat and has nice depth and consistency. There are, however, small cracks in the paint at the top corners of the door openings and one just below the driver's door handle (see pics) perhaps due to shrinkage since application. This is common from what I understand on 2nd gen unibody cars. Trunk deck (under the trunk lid) also shows signs of bodywork from the inherent water drainage issues these cars had. Repaired, but noticeable (see pics). Odo shows 2K but true miles are unknown. Very few miles since resto. Paint and body are solid showing very minor imperfections from use since restoration. The untouched floors and rails are solid except for one spot behind the right front wheel where the fender well turns down into the floor pan---rust bubbles and a small spot of swiss cheese are starting. All mechanical systems, heat, A/C, all lights, switches and gauges are working except the clock does not work and the wiper switch broke recently--I simply have not had time to replace them. Modern 4-spkr sound system with high power AM/FM/CD w/aux input jack for ipod, etc. The car has new fuel tank/lines and brakes work well showing minimal lining wear. Boyd Coddington 17” rims w/ almost new low profile Z-rated tires that make the 10" wide footprint stick like glue through the curves. Rides, drives and handles wonderfully. Very solid driver and ready to take anything you can give it. I recently drove it on a 4-hour trip with nothing but smiles. Show or go, either way, this car is ready. I have tested, driven and picked this car since I bought it two years ago and have found very little lacking. Here's a really solid Camaro to enjoy as is, or pump it up into your own classic Monster. At the price I am asking, you could easily do either and feel good about the purchase. Aditional pics available upon request. Complete disclosure here, so buy with confidence. Overall a very nice car. Not concourse quality but shows and drives very well. . Your opinion is, of course, the most important. So I encourage all serious bidders to come, see and drive before bidding. I want you to be as happy with your purchase as I am with the sale. Please see my feedback and read the comments. I don't sell on Ebay often, but when I do, I treat people right. It is my sales outlet for my vehicular addiction. I like to buy good solid cars, enjoy them for a while and then sell them when I have found the next greatest car. That is exactly where I am today which is why I am selling this great car. I have represented this car as honestly and factually as I can, but the buyer is the ultimate critic. I have not seen many 2nd gen Camaros in similar condition with motor and body this nice sell this cheaply. If you know these cars and what you are looking at here, you will agree that this is a good one. SINCE I GOT A GOOD DEAL ON MY NEXT GREATEST CAR ALREADY, I AM LETTING THIS ONE GO QUICKLY AND AT A VERY GOOD PRICE. LOW RESERVE FOLKS!!! SOMEONE WILL GET A VERY GOOD BUY HERE! Please be serious about buying if you bid. I am, after all, serious about selling-- and that is only fair. Review the terms of purchase before bidding. Know that your bid constitutes your agreement to purchase this vehicle if you win the bid. If you have 0 feedback, you may not bid. No personal checks accepted, period. Cash, cashier's check or paypal (in that order of preference) are welcome. Happy Bidding!! Feel free to call with any questions or to see the car. Phil Clem 540-246-5777 On Oct-03-11 at 07:43:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Hugger Orange (code 65) was not available in 1971. The numbers on the cowl tag are as follows: ST71 12487NOR 177765BDY TR775 13 13 PNT 05B. Based on what these numbers reveal the first string decodes as follows: 1=1971, 2=Camaro, 4=V-8 engine, 87=two-door coupe, NOR=Norwood Ohio manufacturing plant. The next series is the Fisher Body number. The remaining numbers: 775 is trim (black), 13 is paint (silver) 05B is production date month and week (May, second week). From this info, car was originally a V-8 (which makes it RS or SS at least), has a Fisher Body, came with silver paint and black interior. On Oct-03-11 at 14:56:18 PDT, seller added the following information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpaAblrUUKk Is link to YouTube VIDEO of the car on the dyno.
