Vehicle Detail
I bought this Nomad from a close friend. He worked on it for 4 years and parked it in the corner of the garage and started another project which ended up on the cover of Classic Truck magazine. He is a perfectionist and this car shows it. It was almost done when I got it but needed interior. WyCo Classic Interiors of Shawnee, KS covered the floor and firewall in dynamat and installed the factory interior. It has a new headliner, seats, door panels, carpet and mats. For the area behind the back seat we used ribbed rubber on top of the factory like plywood. I’m still missing 3 small interior trim pieces. A sheet metal box was fabricated where the spare tire used to be and the battery and amp are mounted there. The dash and steering column are painted Adobe Beige to match the outside. It has an Ididit tilt column with a 1959 Chevy steering wheel, both adobe beige. The gauges are Custom Rod white face. All work except the fuel and I’m still trying to figure out if it’s the sender or gauge. The stereo is a Kenwood with speakers in the kick panels and back seat. The wipers are Raingear and work well. It also has vintage air using the stock controls. The air works very well and it was almost 100 degrees here for the Goodguys event and I ran the air both on the highway there and around the fairgrounds and it never got over 200 degrees. Glass is in good condition and all rubber is new. The motor is a fresh GM LT4. The detail on the motor is outstanding. The covers for the fuel injectors have been airbrushed to match the car. It has Jet Hot coated headers and the exhaust is hand built and coated. The firewall has been completely smoothed and the fender wells are satin black. The radiator is a Be Cool with a built in shroud and electric fan. It has power steering and power brakes with a new 605 steering box. All bolts are stainless, chrome or cad plated. The hood hinges are also cad plated. The transmission is a fresh 700R4. It has a new Tanks fuel tank with the fuel pump inside. All wiring is brand new from Ron Francis. The bottom side of this car is brand new and all parts have been replaced. The frame was unbolted, cleaned and powder coated satin black. Up front it has dropped spindles, springs, tubular upper control arms and disc brakes. The rear is a 9 inch ford with disc brakes and dropped leaf springs. Everything on the underneath side has been painted or powder coated. The rear brakes make a slight clicking sound. The car is rust free and was a black plate California car when my friend bought it. He pulled all the trim and repainted the Arizona Beige. When he got it the drivers door had a big scratch as did the hood. He fixed and painted both the original Sierra Gold. In the shade they look great but in the sun they are slightly darker than the rest of the car. Overall, the Sierra Gold is about a 7.5 on a scale of 10. It has a few chips in it and you can see where it was leaded from the factory on the roof. All trim and emblems are in excellent shape. The front bumper is a one piece with bumper guards and the rear is a three piece with bumper guards. When we had the interior out you could tell the left rear quarter had been replaced at one time but you can’t really see that from the outside. This car runs and drives excellent. I installed seat belts in the back seat so my kids could ride. The wheels are Budnik Tiller 5’s. 18 x 8 up front on Yokahama 2454018 and 20 x 8.5 in the back on Yokahama 2454020. Similar cars have sold recently for 65-70. This one can be bought for much less. It is a fresh car and shows just over 400 miles but I drove it about 500 before hooking up the speedo so it has about 1000 on it. Please call or email any questions. Seth (816) 509-7114.
