This auction is for a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab. It has freshly tinted windows, new floormats, and many new parts, major one being new transmission at the cost of $1700 with receipts to show. Comes with ice-cold AC and heat. It also has new steel-forged heads, new water pump, and a new radiator along with a newer battery. Underneath it has a new catalytic convertor, with exterior frame and rear-end recently painted black oil-base. The camper is currently missing the rear one-piece glass. Could be replaced with plexiglass. Paint is still in pretty good condition, there are dings and scuffs associated with a truck of this year. Motor runs good and cool, steady at the quarter mark. Transmission shifts nice and firm. Handles as it should going down the road. Interior is still in good condition for a truck of this age. Inspection is good till 06-12, tags are expired. Front windshield is cracked on passenger side but does not interfere with driver. Will add close up pics of body later. Has minor oil leak but will be checking into this and posting update. Odometer stopped working at 139,000. But when the heads were pulled off and replaced, mechanic said he could still see the factory crosshatch marks in the cylinders so that tells me the compression cylinders are still in good shape. I don't know the exact mileage on the truck, but it still runs very well, it's a nice little truck. On Sep-26-11 at 11:33:29 PDT, seller added the following information: After looking close at the motor up on the ramps, it seems possible to me that the valve cover gaskets could be leaking at the back. I followed the wet oil trail up to the top of the heads where the valve cover gasket is. Although I'm not positive, I'm under the impression this is where the oil leaks could be coming from. I cannot guarantee this. Other minor things, these are 15 inch rims, wide tires, when turned to the extreme in either direction the wheel tire contacts shock, drives fine normally when not turned to the far extreme. Interior light does not work, could be bulb. FM CD player sounds good and works fine, display does not function. This is not a perfect truck, remember it is a used truck but has a lot of life left in it. This truck will sell to the highest bidder. There are no warranties written or implied.
