Vehicle Detail
Here's the deal. I purchased this Jeep in Bowling Green, KY on March 2, 1986 after graduating from college and drove my bride of 25 years away from the wedding in it on March 22nd of the same year. It had about 8,000 miles on it. In the 25 years I have owned it, it now has 87,111 miles (about 3,100 a year). Most miles were highway trips to work that were 40 miles each way during '86-'88. Since that time, it has been babied and kept in the in the garage wherever we have moved to.. Wife says I'd be buried in it but, I have got a serious itch to get the new F-150 with the ecoboost and it's not cheap. Jeep is in amazing condition and except for the features listed below IT IS STOCK with original paint. It has the 4 speed manual transmission. All carpeting is in great shape except for a about a golf ball sized burn hole on the front middle due to a candlewatt power light left on (see pic). Here is what I have done to it at various points in its life: Stainless Borla catback exhaust and highflow catalytic converter installed (around '97) -- Gold zinc plated spring shackles installed -- All u-joints replaced on driveshafts (early '90's) -- brake job bearings repacked ('90?) -- Yukon single axle installed (crappy 2-piece ones starting to go '93?) -- MSD ignition and MSD Blaster coil installed (kept the wiring with OEM pigtail connected in case I ever wanted to go back to stock)('00?) -- Flexalite fan installed ('95?) --Taylor 8mm ignition wires (can't remember when installed) -- Rancho shocks installed ('87) -- Like new Pro-Comp Xtreme 31.10.50.15 tires with chrome wheels (like 99'8% tread remaining- thought they looked good) I just liked tinkering with the thing. Never off-roaded. I have a bikini top and a soft top with doors. Soft top has one tear in one of the windows. The doors are wrong color because I bought the factory top and doors from a dealership in Jasper, GA and they gave me as close as they could for what they had. Always meant to get them painted, but they just kind of became part of the jeep. It even has the relatively rare factory step ups that help you into the Jeep. Pics will reveal where there is minimal rust issues. If you remeber the "Ziebart" shops from back in that period you know they undercoated vehicles. The first owner had this done and and they did a BANG UP JOB! NO RUST ISSUES AT ALL UNDERNEATH. Interior is ALL ORIGINAL and the spare tire and cover are original and have never been on the ground. The jeep rides out super and is tight. The engine burns no oil and the clutch still has lots of life to it. I have a ton of photographs I took last weekend that I have put in photobucket that you can also see them at: http://s1138.photobucket.com/albums/n539/miker49/1984%20CJ-7/. Fuel guage does not work. I'll be glad to take additional photos if requested and send to you. This Jeep is being sold as is with no warranty implied. Jeep is here in New Hampshire (DOES NOT COME OUT DURING THE WINTER!!), if you would like to see it or ask any questions e-mail me and I'll try to get back to you same day. I am attached to this Jeep and it pains me to sell it but I want that truck and getting the Jeep out on sunny Sundays to go buy steaks and get compliments on it doesn't justify why someone else could get much more enjoyment out of it at this time. I will not accept bids with less than 10 feedback unless you discuss it with me first by e-mail then by phone. Shipping is on your dime as well as coordination of such. I also have the Jeep for sale locally with best reasonable offer. If it sounds like I am conflicted selling this, I am. I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have feel free to email me.
