Vehicle Detail

Relisted do to a bogus "Buy It Now" buyer who's account was hijacked ! This car is still for sale, sorry I had to start the auction all over again, but in ebay's greatness, they simply couldn't cancel the "Buy It Now" and just resume the auction. THIS IS IT !!! You've been searching here and other sites for a Kick Ass ride that is like nothing else out there. The one that has the right stance and attitude. Something that will stop traffic and turn heads everywhere you go. A car that will be photographed and videoed by everyone that pulls besides you. Well Your search is over, this is the untimate Rat Rod. My 1931 Dodge Coupe was built by a guy out in California, I got it from the second owner in Illinois. Its the greatest car I've ever owned. Due to health problems I regretably have to sell it. The car has its original frame, with stamped vin that matches my clear Maryland title (in my name). Original milage unknown. The body has been chopped and channeled. Body is 4" off ground at the doors, the engine is above the bottom of the frame rails so the few times I've bottomed out (very steep driveways) it simply scrapes a bit on the rails, oil pan is about 5 1/2" from the ground, I've never scraped the pan, or trans, even over speed bumps and Pennyslvania's crappy roads. A lot of that has to do with the stiff suspension. BTW the height of the car is 47" at it's highest point. There is a lot of legroom. people are amazed when they sit in the car. Unlike most traditional hot rods, the suicide front end puts the axel about way out in front of the radiator, streaching the wheelbase and moving the engine out of the passanger compartment. I'm 6' tall and my legs are only slightly bent when I drive. I have about 4" clearance between the top of my head and the canvas top. I do have to slouch a bit to get a good view down the road, Everything is a trade off, but this car is so much more comfortable than most hot rods I've sat in.Body has accent strips painted over a beautiful rusty patina. Engine is a very strong 350 Chevy (I believe tht is bored out with street cam, but I can't be certain). Runs cool, good oil pressure. On top sits an Offenhauser intake with 3 rebuilt Rochester 2 barrels running progressively. The linkage is Bicycle chain. The intakes are off my neighbor's downspouts, (Very Grampa Munster looking). Finned old skool Aluminum valve covers, and Lakes style headers, (with internal baffles). The water pump is new, as are points, plugs, condensor, and wires. Also a new mustang radiator sitting under the Holy Grail of grill shells, harvested from a 1937 Hudson Terraplane, custom cut and welded to perfectly complement the lines of the car. The outside suicide shifter is attached to a 350 automatic and gets tons of attention. . The shifter is topped with a brass door knob that is pure vintage from an 1920s NYC public school. Inside is all business with visabile tranny, removable Grant wheel, working Tach (hidden in an 1860's camera lens), Volts, water temp. oil pressure gages. Also a prism so you can see stop lights from the extreme chopped windshield. The dash is from a Nash Metropolotian and has the original speedo ( not currently connected). Single bench seat in brown vinyl. The tilt windsheild is from fabricator extrodinaire Mark Main, as is the shifter. The removable roof insert is painted canvas and does a great job keeping you dry. The rear window is Asulym glass (the kind with the wire embedded in it). There are no side windows. Drink holders are welded muffler clamps. The suicide front end is attached to new hairpins and pete and Jakes shocks. I believe the rear if from an S10 attached to dual elipitical springs. The wheels are original 35 Fords with new last year Firestone Bias Ply white walls. The drums brakes work excellent and there is no need to switch to discs. Working lights, turn signals and 3rd Brake light. The car is in Gettysburg Pa and is Liscensed Registered and Insured. I've driven it as far as Annaplois MD for Jalopyrama, where it was awarded Car with the best Hot Rod Attitude. Most recently it took Best Rat Rod at Carlisle. Also best bare body car at Mob Town. I have about 4 other trophys for the few shows I've attended the last few years. Do not buy this car thinking it rides like a Cadiliac, it does not. Its has a very stiff suspension. It is loud, low and obnoxious, and draws a crowd everywhere. I encourage you to see the car in person, no joyriders, but I will gladly take serious buyers for a ride. These photos are a few months old and do not show the tilt windshield or outside tach, but you can see it in the 2 interior pics. I've try to discribe this car as accurately as possible, I am a very honest seller with perfect feedback. I want you to know what your buying and be happy at the end of the sale. Be aware THERE IS NO WARRANTY AN NO REFUNDS !!! There is no financing, if you dont have the money dont bid. No new ebay buyers, and dont waste my time with the overseas buyer scams. You have 48 hours from the end of sale to complete payment with paypal or bank transfer, or better yet Cash. I will help load the car and will gladly help coordinate things with your shipper. Any questions Please ASK . On Sep-19-11 at 16:19:16 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION !!! I have gotten dozens of emails, have spoken on the phone to 7-8 interested buyers and have as showed the car 3 times this week. As I've told those I have spoken to, I need to get at lease $15,000. for the car to sell. I will not end the auction early so you can show up with 15K. IF YOUR REALLY INTERESTED, BID, thays why it's on ebay. If the in last few hours of the auction the bid in not approaching 15k, I will end the auction early as NO SALE and contemplate my next move. The reason there is no reserve is due to ebay's error when they relisted it for me after the fradulent "Buy It Now". To fix this I would have to end this auction and again relist (for the 3rd time), and lose all those who are interested or have bid. If you love this car, as so many do, don't wait till the last second to bid. It might not be here.
