Up for auction is a rare 1961 Ford Sunliner Convertible. The car is very well documented. The car was in the same family all these years. I even have a copy of the original title and other original paperwork, including the window sticker. Clean title. all matching body numbers and tags. This is an original Red convertible with the beautiful red and white interior. The car need to be restored. The car had been stored for years inside in a dry polebarn. It has not been cleaned up, so I guess it's like a barn find. Included are all the original parts including the hard to find chrome. I do not think there is much of anything missing. The bumper are in great condition. There is an engine and transmission, and air conditioning. The grandson of the original owner, says the car originally came with a 390 V-8. I am not a 1960's Ford engine expert, so I'm not sure if the engine is a 390 or not, or wheather the engine is the original. The date codes on the engine block and intake, and 4 bbl carb are dated 1961 and 1962. The window sticker states that the car was built with Thunderbird special 352 V-8. I would be glad to get any production numbers off the engine that you would need. I have read that 390's are built on a 352 block. In either case. The engine seems to be date correct. It should be a good running orginal type engine. It's turns, so it not frozen up. Nothing is missing on the engine except for maybe the fan-which may be in one of the boxes. You can rebuild the engine or reconnect the wires and hoses , tune it up and run it. The car does run the way it sits but it rolls around very nicely and will load easliy on to most trailers or flatbed. The X frame is solid and the car is very straight and has never been restored before. There is some rust on a few of the outer panels and some on the outer right rocker, and also where the convertible top meet the trunk area. The floor boards will need some attention, but are still intact. There are two nice used front fender, and two nice used partical floor boards that come with the car. The pictures some help fill in any questions that you might have. I can also take any pictures of the car that you may want to see, and send them directly to your email. Just let me know through ebay what extra pictures of the car you want, plus include your direct email that you want the pictures sent to. Also consider seeing the car in person or setting up an agent to come see the car before the end of the action for serious biider if needed. Once the auction is over, the highest bidder is the winner, and that is the price. The reserve is set very reasonable. You can go right the buy now price and own the car at a great price. I am very easy to deal with. I have 2 cars that need to be restored but I don't have the money to do both anymore. So one of the cars have to go. My lose is your gain tyoe thing. I had fully intented to restore this Sunliner and use it this Spring for my daughter's wedding. But we have run out of time for that, This Ford is a Classic look and is going to be a beauty once restored.
