The SL(Sports Licht) is probably one of the most desirable and sought after two seat roadsters in the world, especially in this classic body style. It has been around for almost 50 Years!!!, half of a century. The final model of this classic body style, the 560 SL, built between 1986 and 1989 is the most sought after, and has the latest technology, including ABS brakes, and a drivers SRS airbag. It is quite popular with the motoring enthusiasts and is loved by everyone. The Germans know how to build interesting cars. And they like to drive.....FAST !!! This wonderful SL is full of that famous German engineering. It is powered by the famous Mercedes Benz 5.6 liter SOHC V8(with double row timing chains) that puts out over 200 horsepower. It is smooth and powerful, and the 4 speed automatic transmission shifts effortlessly. This particular example has only been driven 102,000 miles since new, about 5,000 miles per year!!! Please keep in mind that this is a 24 year old Mercedes Benz that is not "flawless" or "mint". This is a WONDERFUL 560 SL that runs and drives beautifully. The gentleman that serviced it for us agrees. I have driven it about 400 miles and it has been an absolute pleasure. The 5.6 litre Fuel Injected V8 runs great and the Automatic transmission shifts ever so smoothly. It will give years of pleasure to the lucky winning bidder. I will do the best that I can to describe it's actual condition, which is extremely nice. There are 40 photos below, so you can take a tour of the entire car...from outside to inside, even the trunk and the engine compartments are shown, along with many of the wonderful features....please take the time to let all of the photographs load, we're sure that you will be just delighted. If you have any questions or need more info please don't hesitate to ask. As with all classic and collectible vehicles this Mercedes Coupe/Roadster is being Sold without warranty. The exterior is Astral Silver, and is in Beautiful condition. The paint is clean and shiny and shows no signs of damage. There are the normal nicks and chips one would expect on an 18 year old car, but nothing that would need to be repaired/painted. There was some slight "Hazing" to the trunk lid, and right side. This is quite common on older German Cars with high metallic colors. We have had the affected areas re-painted. There are no dents or scrapes, and the car is just Gorgeous. The Black cloth roadster top, while still being very nice, does have a small crack in the right rear window, and a small tear above the drivers seat that we have had repaired to keep water out(before and after photos below). I didn't think it prudent to spend $1000.00 on a new top(Winner can, at our cost) for these minor issues. MOST folks only use these cars on fair weather days. AND, if you get caught in the rain, you can STILL keep dry!!! As you will see this 560SL makes a Beautiful appearance. We have run a Carfax report on this Beautiful Mercedes SL and it passed with flying colors, indicating no accident history, or odometer discrepancies. It qualifies for the famous Carfax Buy Back guarantee. The interior is Black Leather, and is in Wonderful condition. It even smells great. The console area is bathed in beautiful wood trim, that has some small cracks present(photo below). It is quite rich looking. This SL is loaded with all of the features that everyone asks for. Everything is power assist, including the windows, locks, and passenger side rear view mirror. The Climate Controlled Air Conditioning blows Ice Cold, and The original Becker AM FM Stereo Cassette Player sounds just great. I have "test driven" this Extra Nice 1986 Mercedes Benz 560 SL for about 400 miles and it has been a pleasure. It is riding on four all season Radials that are about 50-60%. This car runs and drives like a dream. It is Extremely smooth and very quiet. We have just had it serviced and safety inspected by our good friend, and expert(25 years) Mercedes technician Scott G. It has ALL new brakes to include pads/rotors/calipers/hoses!!! Fresh Oil and Filter. ABS light is on and Scott does not have the proper equipment to diagnose. The new owner has the option have it repaired if they want. Car just has normal, non ABS brakes with light on....No big deal! It has been fully detailed and looks just great. We have the books and manuals, and 1 key It is now ready to be enjoyed by the next lucky owner!!
