Auction is for a 1985 Mercedes 300 CD Turbo in great shape. This hard to find 2-door coupe will soon become a classic, and considering they only made about 8000 over the years it will rapidly appreciate in value. I’ve been using it for my short daily commute over the last four years, and it has started first try every time. The mileage is still very low at 163684, considering the longevity of these cars. Finished in a dark blue with tan leather interior, this car really looks sharp. There are a few minor door dings and small scratches, but overall the car’s exterior is in great shape for its age. On the inside the dash has one minor crack, but otherwise looks clean. The console, door panels, wood, and carpets all look very good. The leather front seats do show their age with some tears and wrinkling – I looked into getting them professionally reupholstered with leather and received a quote of $500, and I can arrange to have this taken care of if the buyer provides the additional funding. The rims have been professionally chromed and really brighten up. Biodiesel Ready - The natural rubber fuel lines have been replaced with Viton ones, even down by the gas tank, so this car happily runs on regular diesel or 100% biodiesel. Brand New Air Conditioning – When it was discovered the evaporator was developing a leak, I decided to go ahead and have the unit replaced (over $1200) rather than passing it off as a minor repair to an unwary buyer. The compressor was also replaced with a brand new unit, so the a/c blows nice and cold. Brand New Radiator – after over 20 years of service the radiator developed a leak, so I had it replaced with a new one of the same quality. All of the power windows and sunroof are in great working order. When you pull down all the windows and open the sunroof it feels like you’re in a convertible because there aren’t any posts between the front and rear windows. It’s a great way to cruise town in this beautiful car.
