Vehicle Detail

History: This classic is the most beautiful car I have ever owned. I am selling because I will move overseas and can't take the car (the country only allows the import of new or 30 year old cars). Otherwise I would never sell this beauty. I bought the car in 2005 from a Beverly Hills Porsche dealer with 112,000 Miles. From 2005 until today all repairs were done by the same shop in Hollywood that is specialized in Mercedes. I have kept all repair invoices since 2005. Repair History: Here are some of the repairs: - 02/15/06 (117,703 Miles): alternator replaced (original part) - 03/20/08: rear shock absorbers replaced - 02/07/09 (145,946 Miles): complete valve job (including new head gasket), timing chain replaced. Because of this repair the car uses very little oil and gets 17 Miles per Gallon. - 04/02/09: ignition module replaced (used part) - 08/20/09 (149,913 Miles): ignition cap + rotor replaced, ignition wires replaced, fuel distributor replaced - 03/24/10 (156,572 Miles): radiator replaced, fuel actuator kit on fuel distributor replaced - 03/25/11 (160,896 Miles): front brake rotors (+ brake pads and sensors) replaced, transmission service (new fluid, filter and trans mount), transmission solenoid valve and seals replaced. Tune-ups were done at least once a year and wear and tear parts replaced on a regular basis (brake pads, air cleaner, smog pump filter, spark plugs etc.). General Condition: I didn't have any accidents or fender benders with the car. It was kept in a car port and in a garage. The car has zero rust. The previous owners since 1995 were all located in California. The paint is original except for the left front fender which I had repainted because of cracks in the paint. The paint is in good condition but has - due to its age - several superficial scratches and some "pinholes". The interior is gray leather and has no holes or tears (see photos). As is common with 560SLs a dashboard cover has been mounted onto the original one since they otherwise tend to crack in the sun (the dashboard cover has no cracks). The soft top is in good condition, There are no holes or tears (see photos). The car still has the original sound system (Becker radio/cassette player). It comes with a device that you can insert into the cassette player and hook up to your iPod. The original manual is still in the glove compartment. Spare tire + original rim is in the trunk. The car comes with the original rims and original hard top (and a fabric cover for the hard top). I also have a pulley to lift the hard top (to be mounted on the garage ceiling). Things that need maintenance:- the automatic antenna does not fully extend anymore although the radio still has the same reception as before - you sometimes have to push the radio's power button more than one time to turn it on - the cruise control does not work - the aircon has to be refilled with gas - engine idle: sometimes the engine idles too fast and then goes down again. Summary: The car is in very good condition and very well maintained. Final Remarks: The car has 165,000 Miles at the moment. Since I will still drive the car until it is sold I have put the Mileage at 166,000. A little fun story: one day in the parking lot of my local Hollywood supermarket a lady in a Porsche looks at my car and tells me how beautiful it is and that she had exactly the same one. It turns out that she was a previous owner of my car who traded it in for her Porsche (and I bought the car from the Porsche dealer). What are the odds that you meet a previous owner of your car in a city like Los Angeles! This car brought me a lot of joy and I hope it will do the same for its next owner!
