for sale 1999 passat I bought this at the local auction house not knowing anything about passats. I drove the car home to find out it was in "limp home mode" the transmission was shot . took it to the dealer and in the process of troubleshooting the problem the axel broke. took it to another garage and had the axel and transmission replaced. the car drives but is still not right, a noise from the replacement transmission, seems the garage didn't install some kind of spacer plate. also there is somekind of drain on the battery will not hold a charge for more than 3 or 4 days. I have decided not to put anymore money into the car. the car does drive have it on a charger to keep the battery charged. this is the perfect car for somebody that knows vw's . The body is in great shape just a few scrapes in paint, and the interior is really nice the only problem is the shifter handle is loose but still works, everything electrically seems to work. I have a vw manual,spare transmission module that goes with the car. Please feel free to ask any questions thanks
