Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on: 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EXT CAB 1500 LS 4x4 Short-Box Z71 Z71-Off Road Package and Towing Package with Tow/Haul mode (transmission) And a GM Factory Installed-COMPOSITE BOX. I purchased this pick up truck new in October 2001 from Holz Chevrolet in Hales Corners WI. It was a loaded model at the time. I am selling it because I want to buy a new truck this year. It runs great, the battery, water pump and serpentine belt, and both front wheel bearings were all replaced in 2010 The 4 x 4 has only been used in snow or on ice, never in mud and I never went off-roading. The transmission and engine are in good shape and are original. They never needed repairs. All routine maintenance and parts replacements were done by GM certified mechanics or Master mechanics In the past 3 years the following parts were replaced: U-joints, front brakes, Pitman Arm (steering), Tires are Goodyear Wrangler P265 75/R16. They have about 30,000 miles on them. They definately will make it one more winter with good traction. Some of the truck's best features are: A prototype COMPOSITE-BOX was installed by the GM factory on this truck. I was told that less than 20 Chevrolet Silverado were made with a COMPOSIT BOX for the 2002 model year and that only 4 of them came to Wisconsin on dealer lots. I am glad I bought one of them. It is a short box (6ft box) with a built in bed liner. The box is made out of a modified fiberglass material that never rusts, or dents. It is lightweight and rugged. The bedliner was not sprayed on, it is one piece with the composite box. The dealership told me I could not put a cap on the bed because the upper sides of the box do not have a ledge to attach a cap. There are slots in the top to accomodate a ladder rack, and also 6 tie down connections on the floor of the bed to make securing your loads an easy task. I have had a full size Frabill magnum ice shanty in the bed and also I used to haul a Polaris Sportsman 400 ATV in it. The front seats are 6-way power seats with armrests. The back rests move with a manual lever. The rearview mirror has a compass and outside temperature guage The visors have extensions inside them to allow you to block the sun across the entire windshield. Power windows, power doors locks, power driver side and passenger side rear view mirror adjustments AM/FM Premium Sound Stereo with CD and Cassette -The speakers are not blown but the bass does not sound as clear as it did when it was new. The Volume and Tuner knobs need replacements. It works fine for me the way it is. Cruise Control works like-new Air Conditioning - It works (blows cold air) but at times it squeels under the hood, and the blower fan does not blow as hard as it should. I believe the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced, maybe the A/C is needing replacement I do not know. The heater and windshield defroster works fine and no noises are heard when they are running There is no rear window defrost, and the rear window is tinted one-piece design. There is a fold up rear bench seat with seating for 3 people and all seat belts are in like-new condition. There are driver and passenger AIR BAGS, and you can turn the passenger one on or off to your liking There are RHINO LININGS on all of the floors, and the carpet are in really good shape. No tears or holes Cloth bucket seats in the front with a deep (locking) console between them and 2 cup holders in front of the console No one ever smoked in this truck, and no pets ever got in it. It is clean and well cared for I have two keys (only one keyless remote-non-functioning) I replaced the battery but it doesn't work. Maybe the dealer has to reset something. I do not know. As with any other 9 year old vehicle there are signs of wear and tear on the steering wheel, and interior cab moldings. Also there are small scratches in the body but none that I can see that went through the clear coat. I used to hand wax the truck every 4 months but I stopped doing that two years ago, when I got tired of all the work involved. The paint is in good shape. The fuel I run in it is 87 octane, and I get 17mpg pretty much all the time. On some long trips I sometimes get as much as 19mpg, and the dealership tells me they believe it, and that I am lucky because the sticker said 17mpg was the estimated top. I am not complaining. The TOWING Package, included a adapter for trailer lights and TOW/HAUL mode on the gear shifter. The jack and the spare tire are still attached from the factory. I never needed them. The only accident I was in was self inflicted. In December 2006 I ran into a lamp post in a parking lot at idle speed (less than 4mph). I was (inadvertantly driving) looking through the rear view mirror and was turning the truck around to leave work. The front bumper was the only thing damaged and I paid cash to have it replaced with a NEW GM BUMPER. The frame was thoroughly checked and it was not damaged. The truck is in alignment and it always has been. When I posted this listing the truck had 196, 611 miles on it, but since then I needed to take it to the car wash across town so I could clean it up for you to see. When it sells it will have less than 196,650 miles on it. This was my primary vehicle up until 3 days ago. Over 3/4 of the miles driven in this truck were highway miles. This truck is a good runner. It has never broke down or failed to start. If someone is cutting me off in traffic, it has enough get up and go with this V-8 engine to floor it and get out of the way. I have relied on this truck to get me from point A to point B for nearly 10 years now and it has never let me down. I do not know of a better built vehicle than a Chevy Silverado 4 x 4. If I didn't need to drive 1000-2000 miles a week for business right now, I wouldn't be selling it. I will list the things I know need repair right now below. None of these things need to be replaced in order for the truck to run or for it to do what it was made to do, (haul your gear). I put off getting them fixed because of my lack of finances lately. There are 3 things that are not operating normally right now are: 1. The blower motor resistor for the air conditioning and the heater is going bad. I have had it replaced twice before for under $100. The symptom is the blower fan doesn't come on when you turn it to 1, or 2, on the dial. It comes on at 3, and blows harder at 4, and 5, but not as hard as it does when it is new and turns on at 1. 2. The driver's side window motor or mechanism inside the door that lifts and lowers the window needs to be replaced. I opened the window in winter when the temperature was 12-degrees and the truck was parked outside overnight, and it didn't open, but the motor kept trying to open it. Now I do not open or close the window on the driver's side because I fear that it may open and not close again. The cost to replace the broken part is less than $375.00 Do not open that window until you have it repaired or you may have to pull the window up by hand. 3. There is a squealing sound coming from the air conditioning unit when the A/C is on. The air conditioning still works but about every 30 seconds it squeals for 5 seconds or so. I never had any work done on the air conditioner, and I do not know what the life expectancy of one is, so be aware that the A/C unit it needs work right now. The noise only occurs when the A/C is on and it just started making noise 500 miles ago. Rust: Visually there is some rust on the lower driver and passenger side doors. The frame has some rust under the doors. I do not know much about the mechanics of cars or truck so I leave that up to the professionals. Email me if you want to come and see it, or test drive it before purchasing it. Once the auction ends the winning bidder gets it and there is no refund policy. Your time to inspect it is before the auction ends. Thank you for looking. I am pricing my truck well under the Kelly Blue Book Values so it will sell on this auction. Today kbb.com says my truck is worth $8,730 in good shape (not needing repairs), $7,855 in fair shape in (needing some small repairs) as an individual seller. The highest bidder is going to tell me how much it is worth to him or her. I am hoping to get it sold to someone who is going to appreciate the value in it. ON SEPTEMBER 3rd 2011, I reduced my starting bid from $4000 to $2000 so more people would want to bid on it. I set a reserve on the vehicle at the lowest price I am willing to part with it for. I also lowered the down payment amount that the winning bidder has to get to me within 3 days of the end of this auction from $2000 to $500. I hope those changes can convince you that this is a vehicle worth owning. ATTENTION WINNING BIDDER: You must pay a deposit of $500.00 within 3 days of the end of auction. Payment in full of the balance due must be made within 7 days of the end of this auction. The truck is sold AS/IS with no warranty or return option. If you want to test drive it email Bob at so__awesome@hotmail.com to request a test drive. The truck is located in Ashland Wisconsin zip code 54806 I will add additional interior and exterior photos during the auction. I will assist you in making pick up or delivery accomodations if you ask me to. That does not include me paying for any of your costs. On Sep-03-11 at 21:43:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I guess the interior color is more grey than black. Please be sure you want to own this truck before you bid on it. Thanks.
