Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a spectacular M5. I am the second owner of this Imola Red M5. I bought it 5+ years ago while driving down the street and passing a BMW dealership. The car had just been traded in on a new M5 and I pulled in and bought on the spot. This must be one of the best-taken-care-of M5s anywhere. The first owner never drove it in winter. Nor have I. When I purchased it, it had 47,000 or so miles on it. That means that he drove it only about 6,700 miles each year. I have since driven it less than 10,000 miles each year. And that includes driving it from Doylestown, PA (where I purchased it) to Tampa, FL, and on a few long highway jaunts in the Florida area. The first owner traded this car in on a new M5. This car gets absolutely babied by me, as it did by the previous owner. I have it hand washed and detailed about once per week. About one year ago, I had the front chin spoiler replaced because it was a little bit nicked up from parking lots. When I had the chin spoiler replaced, I had all of the stone chips on the hood filled in and the hood repainted. The car has never been hit or in any accident of any kind. All regular maintenance has been done, and most of it either at Thompson BMW, the Doylestown, PA BMW dealership where it spent its early life, or at Reeves BMW in Tampa, FL where I live now. I have also had some work done at Rennen Motorsport on Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa. I have all receipts since I have owned it. Significant work on it includes a new clutch. This was part of my purchase arrangement when I purchased it. Although it only had 47,000 miles on it, I felt that the clutch was slipping just a bit. It was probably from lack of use, certainly not from over-use. Although imperceptible, Thompson BMW agreed that as part of selling me the car, they would have it replaced. So, it has a BMW OEM clutch in it that has about 40,000 miles on it. The instrument cluster was also replaced around the time that I purchased the car. Not all of the instruments were reading out correctly, so they replaced the entire cluster. I have the clutch and instrument cluster records. That is the only major work that it has needed. I have a thick folder with the records in it. I’m not going to photograph and scan them all, but if you have something that you would like to see, we can work one on one, and I’ll send you a scan. Minor work has included all services, including all scheduled belts, hoses, and other normal wear and tear parts. It has had brakes recently, and it has a newer set of tires on it, about 8,000 miles ago. The car has one or two blemishes. There are a couple of nicks in the wheels. They were never ground on a curb, but somehow, over its life, some nicks occurred. There is also one stone chip on the nose of the car, near the BMW Roundel badge. That is it! As you can see from the photos, this car is AWESOME. Everything else works perfectly. I would encourage anyone to come over and test the car out (with me riding shotgun!). The car’s exhaust note is legendary…not overly loud like an American V-8 hotrod, but just enough of a low growl to let you know that the car has all the power that it needs. The suspension is also incredible. If you have never driven a BMW M5, I feel that the suspension is actually the best part of the car! If you cannot come and test it personally, I’ll be happy to take it to a location of your choice and put you in touch with the service people there, or anyone else that you would like me to work with, at your expense, of course. Oh, and it is limited to 155 mph. Good luck bidding on my baby. I’m selling it because I have 3 cars and a motorcycle, and am downsizing my rides a bit. I hate to let it go, and I’m not going to just give it away. For the right BMW enthusiast, this is one heck of a car! Good luck again!
