You are bidding on an excellent example of a 1965 VW sedan located in sunny Arizona. Very well maintained as you can see on the pictures. I bought this car from a collector in Oregon 5 years ago and had it garaged and covered since. I have only driven it a couple of times to keep it in perfect working condition. I am remodeling my house and have to say goodbye to this baby. Original accessories include Sealed beam lamps, Sun visor, Pass Assisted grip, Opening rear side windows, seat belts and windshield washer. This car is a real beauty with many accessories professionally installed like the very rare“uni-vents” to keep the inside of the car cool in summer time. Also windshield defrosters, original German roof rack with key locks, ski racks (skis included), a complete set of 5 firestone bias–ply tires. The car has the optional Saphire bendix AM radio and also included is the original manual. I have everything from the service booklet, to the manuals and invoices that prove the car has been kept and serviced periodically. Also included are the original Hazet tool set I bought on a trip to England and an all weather car cover I bought to replace the old one. I believe the outside still has the original paint in the correct Fontana grey. The color chart for that year can be found at: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/6465colors/page1.jpg. Some fading can be appreciated on the hood and minor dings have been repaired. The body is a no hit car with original sound proof liner in hood and motor compartment. Door seals work great (you need to open the window a little bit so air can escape and doors can be closed). The interior still has the factory original rubber floor mat and was added an under the dash tray. Seat covers and door panels were upgraded years back and were installed by a professional shop. However the headliner and everything else inside is original with just normal wear of 40+ years. All the glass has the factory VW markings and is in excellent shape. The correct 6-volt system and all the lights, gauges, wipers, horn have been kept untouched. Everything works at should (horn sound weak though). Brakes, transmission, engine… All the mechanicals are in perfect working condition and the 6 volt battery is only a couple of months old. This is the year when VW decided to build their own distributors so, instead of a bosh distributor, this one has the VW emblems on it.I am including a couple of parts I have gathered like 2 distributor caps, distributor rotor, condenser, points, bulbs, fuses, the original gas pump, turn signal flasher etc. All original tools come with the car also.
