Vehicle Detail

I have a reputation of giving long winded descriptions of cars that I list here on ebay. But I like folks to know exactly what they are bidding on so that there are no unpleasant surprises. And everyone has always been happy with their purchase from me. I've sold about 30 cars from about $5k to $40k over the last few years on here. I am a 1st generation Camaro FREAK. I've been restoring them over 30 years now and I'm about to get the hang of it. I rate my cars as "A" , "B" or "C" cars. An "A" is a National contender, never, ever to be driven. A "B" is almost too nice to drive and will win consistantly at the local shows. A "C" is a super nice driver that will pick up a trophy now and then. This car is a "C" type car. I have a lot of requests for good builders. So sometimes I just take a car up to the point where all the hard, scarey metal work is done and someone can finish it out to their own taste. That's the case here. Now on to the car. I got this one as I do a lot. A guy had bought it, got started on it and gave up once he found out how much money it would take to get the metal work done. The car was originally Tripoli Turquoise, (Code KK) with a White Bumblebee stripe. It had code 726, Turquoise Custom bucket seat interior. VIN begins with 124, so it was a V-8 car. I believe it was a 327 with a powerglide. Both are long gone. The car has power steering and power front disc brakes. The car was already pretty much torn apart, but I finished completely disassembling it. I then stripped it down to bare metal. Let's start at the back. The tailpanel had a dent next to the gas filler, so I installed a new one. The trunk pan had 3 holes about 2" in diameter, so I installed a new one along with new trunk braces. Extensions, drop offs and shock areas were all good. Good inner and outer wheel wells and excellent rear frame rails. I installed new quarter skins. Very nice roof, front and rear glass openings and front of decklid panel. All the floor was nice with the exception of a hacked up shifter area that I welded a fabricated patch over and the left rear floor pan had been cut out, (apparently to patch another car many years ago when replacements were not available). I had an old floor cut out of a car years ago that I cut a pan out of and replaced the missing one. Nice rockers, dash panel, upper dashpanel, cowl and firewall. Nice original foors. All metal work was done with my plasma cutter and mig welder using solid steel core wire, (no flux core ever). Once all the cutting, welding and grinding was done, the rough in body work was done and the complete outer shell and doors were given a coat of a rust inhibiting polyester primer. It was then longboarded with 80 grit and reprimed. It was then longboarded with 180 grit and given a final coat of black lacquer primer. The bottom of the shell was cleaned up and coated with truck bed liner. The subframe assembly was cleaned up and given a coat of black epoxy sealer as well as the rear end, rear leaf springs, firewall, dash panel and dash parts. The subframe assembly was then installed with new body bushings and hardware. The rear end was installed with new shackles and hardware. A new gas tank was installed with a new 3/8” sending unit, new straps and new hardware. A new decklid was installed with a new spoiler, new striker and latch. A complete new front end was installed, including fenders, inner fenders, core support, core support bushings, fender extensions, lower valance, header panel, battery tray, rear inner fender brackets, cowl hood, hood latch, hood striker and cowl panel. I then installed a new RS gas cap, new taillight bezels and lenses, new reverse light assemblies and new rear bumper. I installed new wheel well moldings, new rocker moldings, new outer door handles, new door mirror and new front bumper. The dash was then reassembled with nice smooth heater controls, new switch bezels and nice original parts. Nice 15x7 Rallys with new stainless trim rings, nice center caps and mismatched roller tires were installed. Nice original door and quarter glasses were cleaned and lubed so they roll up and down smooth. Nice solid seat cores were installed. A complete new (one key fits all) lockset was installed. Parts not installed but included with the car include the following: Nice fairly new windshield with good original stainless moldings and new clips. Nice original rear glass with good original stainless moldings and new clips. New side markers and bezels. Complete original left side headlight assembly. Original right side headlight bucketOriginal actuator brackets, bell crank and misc. pcs. New headlight doors New headlight door moldings New grill New upper grill molding New lower grill molding New driprail moldings I would recommend priming and blocking the car a couple more times before painting. The car will need your drive train, complete brake job, an interior kit and a weatherstripping kit. The car still has a long way to go, but it is a super good solid start to a nice driver-local show type car. I have a clear Arkansas title in my name. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding, or by all means feel free to come by and check the car out before bidding. I will require a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 via Paypal within 24 hours. The balance is due within 5 days via bank wire transer or cash in hand. If payment requirements are not met, the car will be relisted immediately. If you choose the bank wire transfer method, I can overnight the signed title to you. I can store the care inside up to 30 days. I am available just about anytime to help you or a transport company load the car. I can pack all the loose parts inside the car for transportation
