Vehicle Detail

Vin # RS23G8RI08975 This is a local car ordered new by Charles Parker while he was stationed in Vietnam. The car was waiting for him when he returned home in 1968. Sadly, this car had a brush with a complete idiot at some point in it's lifetime, The engine and tranny was pulled and scrapped, as well as the dash, front bucket seats, console etc. The idiot dreamed of installing a late model interior in this classic MOPAR, and once he tore a few of the nice things about the car apart, parked it and it became a victim of the I'm gonna fix it up someday brigade. The car eventually ended up in a garden in my grandmothers neighborhood. After 10 years of trying to purchase the car, I was finally able to Save it from rotting, as I was sent word it was going to be sold. Unfortunately, like most Americans, 10 years ago, I was alot better off financially than now, I simply do not have the funds to restore the car. The car is missing the vin plate due to the idiot tossing the dash , the vin is stamped on the car itself, this can be used for a state issued replacement vin plate or if you live up North and have a very rusty GTX, you can use this to re body your car. Before I purchase the car, I wrote down the vin and had the police run it to verify it was not stolen, it is good to go. Looks like some updating has been done to the front suspension and a disc brake set up is in place. Car comes with a legal bill of sale only. Missing the windshield and back glass. Floor pan has been patched, it is salvageable but I'd put new ones in, also the center of the trunk pan is gone. The rear wheel Have not been cut. This is a very good starting point, does not have alot of rust in the car. This was not a vinyl top car which means a GOOD ROOF! I am not able to restore this car to it's former glory, but I know somewhere out there in the top 2% of the fortunate Americans :) there is a MOPAR freak who will give this car the second chance it deserves! I am just glad I was able to save it. There will be a low reserve, very affordable, (Not making 68 GTX's anymore ya know so No it's not $500.00 ) Car must be paid for in full within 5 days of auction end, Car should be picked up at the new owners expense within 30 days of auction end. Thank you and God Bless :) On Aug-22-11 at 08:35:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a vin decoder for verification this is a GTX 440 was not the only engine offered in 1968. http://www.musclecardrive.com/vin-decoders/plymouth-gtx-vin-decoder.php
