Greetings to All!!! imotors is pleased to offer this very rare and desirable 1982 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo Diesel sedan. This W123 body style is Quite popular, and is shared with 240D. It is powered by the Almost indestructible, Zillion mile reliable 3.0 liter 5 cylinder diesel engine coupled to a Factory issued Mercedes 4 speed MANUAL Transmission!!! No, it isn't a rocket ship, but the turbo charged 5 cylinder gives it ample power, AND economy at the same time. I have spoken with Several folks who say..."an '82 300D with a STICK, I never knew Mercedes built one"!!! Well, they didn't(more about this below)! Evidently they have achieved "cult" status, and are being scooped up by the 'Benz lovers of the world. This one will have a new home at the end of this auction. I have just purchased this lovely 300D from a vintage Mercedes enthusiast, who co-incidently is an engineer for Mercedes Benz!!! He LOVES to buy and recondition old Mercedes Benz's, drive them for a bit, and move on to another. THIS one has had the 4 speed conversion done along with a host of other stuff to include 4 new Goodyears, along with new clutch parts and a balanced reconditioned driveshaft. We were lucky enough to be able to acquire it, and offer it to you right here on eBay. The 300D now has 154,000 miles on the odometer. Just about 5,000 miles per year!!!! It is quite apparant that the car has been VERY well cared for, and has spent most of it's life in the garage. It had Very minimal rust on the right side along the lower moldings, and on the dog leg. We have had these area repaired to look great!. There is no rot/rust anywhere underneath, or on the rockers. It is amazingly nice for a 30 year old W123 Mercedes, One of the nicest ones that I have seen in Many Many years. These cars are becoming almost Extinct!!! As you will see in the photos below, it is quite a nice car. Just as you would expect from a low mileage beauty!! THIS IS THE ONE!!! If you ever wanted one of these German Road Rockets(it was just too funny to change!!) this is your Golden Opportunity. The exterior is Champagne Metallic. The paint is Bright and shiny and has no signs of damage. There was some light/small scabs along the lower moldings on the right side that we had repaired. Also, as is common with this color, this is some very slight hazing that you can only see in bright sunlight(you really have to look closely!). This Unique old 300D has been very well cared for, I think it is Extra Extra nice, and I'm sure that you will agree. Please take the time to let the 40 pictures load. You will see just how nice it really is. The interior is Palomino MB TEX, which is extremely durable. This is a non-smokers car that is extremely clean inside. It is in Excellent condition. The carpets are also very nice, and have probably been covered by the Mercedes mats, which are included, since new. There is beautiful wood trim on the dash and console, that just adds to the quality one would expect from a Mercedes Benz. There is factory air conditioning that Actually DOES work, along with a power sunroof, and cruise control. There are power windows and locks, and an original "Becker" AM FM Stereo Cassette along with a Hirschmann antenna that have both recently been reconditioned. We have just had this Gorgeous Mercedes Benz 300D serviced and safety inspected by our expert(20 years) Mercedes technician, Scott G.. He has performed his famous pre-owned inspection. The oil and filter have also been changed, and he converted the Air Conditioning to R134A freon. It is riding on a set of Goodyear radial tires that are about 70%. I have put about 200 miles on this Mercedes and it runs and drives beautifully. It drives incredibly well, very tight and solid. All of the Mechanicals appear to be in excellent condition. We have all of the books and manuals. This Gorgeous 300D has been fully detailed and is ready for many years of enjoyment. It is mechanically and cosmetically in excellent condition and will give the lucky winning bidder many years of enjoyment.
