This is our 1968 FORD MUSTANG 289 COUPE, this should be considered well above just a worthwhile restoration project car as it runs and drives and can be a daily driver if needed. This is a very straight and solid desert car with no rust or rot. Original Black plates will stay with the car. This auction has NO RESERVE, high bid takes it home. If winning bidder is in Southern California, I can assist with delivery, I also deliver to the shipping terminals in the Los Angeles area on a weekly basis. Also, I plan on selling many of the cars in my collection this year, so it will benefit other collectors and those of you that already know me and what I have to continue watching my listings! Please take the time to view the detailed pictures, I am very thorough when shooting and describing a vehicle and make every effort to catch as much detail as possible! Cosmetically, the body of this Mustang is complete and very straight. Besides the rear lower valance (see pic), there are no dent, rot or rust repairs needed. The floors and undercarriage are very solid and very clean (see pics). All glass is clean, clear and in good shape. Trunk area and quarters look good. The original cream color paint was redone to "driver" quality Pearl White back in 2002, the car went into indoor storage in 2005 and has been there since. The paint is not "show" quality, but still looks decent from a distance. Upon close inspection I see chips, scratches and fade. For some reason the drivers door has a wierd tint to it now. It is the original door to the car with the original door tag VIN still attached. This Mustang rides on old school S/S Crager wheels, tire tread is about 30% rear and 60% front. This car is perfect for someone that wants to drive it while they are restoring it. The interior is actually well above average for the year. The drivers seat has splits at the seams and will need resewn and carpet has sun fade on the center hump, carpet is NOT torn up just faded and the other seats look excellent as does the head liner, door panels and dash! Everything works inside except for the temp gauge and no radio. Also has a nice Grant GT steering wheel. Mechanically, this Mustang has the 289 engine, it is not the original engine but does run nice and has plenty of power. The auto transmission shifts smooth and on cue and the car is equipped with power steering. There has also been several new parts installed including new alternator, Edelbrock carb, fuel pump, power steering pump and shock absorbers. I have in hand the clean and clear California title/ownership certificate on this Ford. The car is located in Moreno Valley, California 92551 (Southern California) near March Air Base.
