Hello, this auction is for a 1997 Dodge Ram Van 2500. It has a Sherry conversion with the raised roof and special interior and exterior accents. The exterior is pretty nice with the exception of a few scratches and dings consistent with a vehicle of this age. The clear coat is peeling in some areas of the roof and there are a few cracks in the running boards but overall it's in good condition. The paint is a very dark charcoal grey mettalic that almost looks black and is still glossy. It would definitely clean up well with a good detail! There is no rust anywhere and the underside looks outstanding!! On the interior, the carpet and upholstery is dingy and dirty and needs a good shampooing. It will also clean up nicely, I just don't have time to have it done. The mini blinds are in poor condition and should be replaced if you like having blinds on the windows. The windows are tinted in the back so I didn't worry about it. There are a few tears and blemishes on the sides of the walls here and there but nothing real bad. The television works, you just need to hook up your dvd player or game system and you're good to go. It also has the cool lighting on the walls that I always liked. The van is 14 years old but in my opinion, it's in pretty good shape. On the mechanical side, the air conditioner does not kick on, it could be as simple as a fuse or a relay but I have never messed with it. The heat however works very well and the rear fan works also. All the lights work, and the stereo sounds great! It has tilt wheel and power mirrors also that work well. The engine starts right up and runs well but it hasn't been driven very much in the last year or so as I bought it to haul my motocross bike to practices and races but I never used it due to an injury early last season that prevented me from competing. The transmission shifts smoothly and goes through all the gears including overdrive and reverse. The lockup converter works as it should also. It has nearly new Uniroyal Liberator A/T tires on it with nice polished aluminum rims. The brakes are good but the van wants to pull a little bit when braking. I am certain that turning the rotors will take care of this and maybe replacing the front pads because I think they are glazed from riding on rotors that had surface rust on them. It didn't do this when I parked it. I think it would benefit from a minor tune-up but to be honest, I think it will run perfectly if it just gets driven more often. The exhaust is quiet with just a very slight leak from somewhere but it is barely noticeable. The engine is the 5.9 Liter 360. I don't know why the listing says 5.2. To be honest, the pictures make the van look cleaner than it is but I assure you, it will clean up nicely. This van has only 118469 miles on it and would be a great buy for someone in need of a large vehicle for the family or if you want to use it in your business, the seats are easily removed. This is a NO RESERVE auction with a low starting bid so bid to own!
