Vehicle Detail

This is my vintage 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II. The car has 40,000 miles. It is solid, clean and in excellent cosmetic condition. I acquired the car from the wife of the owner, who recently passed away. This is somewhat of a project car, as the owner shorted out some wiring under the floorboards and currently it does not start. It was driven regularly up until this happened last fall. The motor turns over freely when you jumper the starter, so there is no problem with the engine, just the wiring/electrical. The body is solid and clean, and the interior is nice and very presentable. This car will need to be towed away, and needs electrical work to be road-worthy again. These gorgeous rare Silver Shadows trade hands for about $20,000+, so this is a great deal. I am located in Willoughby, OH please email me or call/text me at 440 339 4341. The winning bidder came come pick up the car and trailer it home, or alteratively can have it shipped. I highly recommend Angels Moving Autos at 530-245-0481 for having the car shipped to you.On Aug-21-11 at 11:25:59 PDT, seller added the following information: MAJOR UPDATE THE CAR NOW STARTS, RUNS AND DRIVES! Today I had a master Rolls-Royce collector and technician come out to see the car. He figured out that two fuses were blown and that the distributor rotor was missing. We replaced these two items and the car started up, and it runs and drives. He also figured out that there was never an electical fire in the car, nor a fire of any kind. What happened was that the catalytic convertor which sits under the driver's floorboard overheated, and it melted the carpet from underneath. The previous owner then removed the section of pipe that leads to that catalytic convertor (I have the piece) so the exhaust is loud. There are no melted wires under the dash or floorboards, nor is there any problem with the starter. The motor runs great, the transmission shifts properly and we tested many items on the car, including the hydraulic suspension/leveling system (it works) the brakes, the electric windows, power steering, power locks, interior lights, and all guages. The fuel guage does not appear to work, since I drove it to the gas station, put some fuel in and it still reads empty. All of the dashboard warning lights come on when you start the car and then go out, except the parking brake light, which stays on. This car now RUNS and DRIVES, though I would still recommend that the car be trailered home (unless you're going a relatively short distance) because of the loud exhaust and because the car hasn't really been road-tested for any length of time. This car is MUCH LESS of a project than originally thought- it is now a running, driving car that just needs some exhaust work and a little care and tinkering. On Aug-23-11 at 15:31:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Today I took the Rolls-Royce out for a drive and I took the following photos. I can report that the car runs well, holds coolant temperature fine, and shifts through all the gears properly. The suspension is good, as are the brakes. I have not noted any mechanical problems.
