this is a 1981 vw diesel rabbit it comes with two engines and a 4 speed it is a Ls has sunroof but has been sealed off. here is what happened i was driving down the road and the vehicle died on me had it towed home and i noticed that the head gasket was leaking oil so i figured it needed a new one. i put a new head gasket on it and it ran but was getting water in the oil so i figured the head was bad or the block was bad. so i found a engine online the guy said it ran so i bought it the fuel pump was bad so i swaped it out was able to get it running had it running good. so i pulled my engine out to put the other one in tried to start the other engine one more time before i put it in couldn't get it started.so since i couldn't get it started i was going to have the head from my old engine tested so i took it off and i noticed i put the head gasket on upside down and that the water passege in the gasket was where a oil passage was. so a corner of the water hole was on the water port and the other half was in the oil port in the head so that was why i was getting water in my engine because i put the gasket on upside down. so if you just tighten the bolts down on the head and put everything together it should run. not sure what is wrong with the other one im tierd of messing with it. have other projects that need to be done. but basically you are getting two engines two fuel injection pumps two ac compressors two starters. you are getting only one transmission. one engine has 179000 miles on it not sure how much the other one has. body body is in good shape front floor pans are rusted on the edges put still hold up other then that the body is pretty rust free struts are solid and the underneath of the car is in good shape there is a little dent near the gas cap no other dents that i can see. a little surface rust one the out side but nothing bad. tires are in good shape and all lights work back door wont stay up by its self so i prop it open.it needs a new driver side seat belt and possible a new carpet. interior does neeed a good cleaning though. i have alot more money in this car than what i am selling it for but just dont have the time for it so whoever gets it hopefully they can get it running again. it needs new cloth for the ceiling WILL NOT SHIP pickup only
