1983 Datsun 810 Maxima diesel with the automatic overdrive transmission (available for 1983 only) benefits mpg. The Maxima delivers on frequent interstate commutes of over 32.5 mpg. This is a well proven powertrain and Nissan Diesels are known to run forever. The ld28 motor is legendary for torque and bulletproof dependability.... What makes the engine so durable is the iron block and iron cylinder heads. Mechanically the Nissan diesel is great starts up smooth and with no smoke. Just replaced glow plugs, radiator hoses belts and front struts. Tires are in great shape. Interior is in better then average shape for its age needs a good cleaning dash has cracks.All power windows operate well as due the lights signals and all.The a/c was redone a couple of years ago and due to the lack of use needs a recharge. The body and paint ARE original paint on hood and roof becoming to show its bare metal.There is rust on the rear bottom of the window and other spots on the hatch undercarrige is clean. Needs some small metal repairs in those areas. A dependable Nissan that may be driven anywhere with confidence. Good for any Biodiesel WVO project.
