Vehicle Detail

1949 Willys Jeepster. Flat head 4 clinder Go-Devil engine with 3 speed manual transmission (no overdrive) column shift. Not 4 wheel drive. This is a project car, it needs restoration. All original, complete with side curtains, jack, manuals. The only thing I can find missing is one hub cap. I have ran the engine on a remote tank and driven it in the yard. Engine runs good with no knocks or smoking. Has an exhaust leak in the pipe below exhaust manifold. There is rust in the gas tank. The convertible top and side curtains are old but in good condition and do not leak. The flat sheetmetal in floorpans have been cut out and need replacement sheetmetal. The lower two to three inches of the rocker panels also have been cut out and need replacement sheetmetal. I have a latter model distributor and 12 volt alternator for 12 volt conversion. The old car has some rust issues as most Jeepster do in these areas- there is replacement sheetmetal is available online (the jeepsterman or jeepster jim to name a few). The frame appears solid and all the drivetrain componets. All the tires hold air fine and do not leak. The old whitewalls still look good for their age. This is a Alabama car and has no title (non-title state). It still has its antique Alabama licience plate tag. Sold with bill of sale and ledger of previous repairs and restoration. I have thousands in receipts including engine machine work and overhaul. It also has the factory option radio (not sure if it will still work). This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION for a project car. Do not expect a $20K restored Jeepster. Would make a great father son project. It is very simple to work on. The engine is the same as the Willys Jeep in WWII. You are welcome to come by and take a look before bidding. If you have a lot of questions- call me 504-952-8537. If you live within 100 miles I may be able to haul on my car trailer for small fee. I also know a good shipping company with low rates for out of state buyers. The previous winner of the auction was not able to complete the transaction due to economic reasons. Please make sure you have the funds available before bidding. $150 deposit through pay pal due after auction end to cover ebay listing fees.
