Please read the entire listing before you bid. This Mechanics Special would be great for someone that can give this 2001 TL1000 a little TLC. This bike does fire up and run. The previous owner did ride the bike in and says that everything works. However, I would check everything over before I rode this bike. This bike has been down and has scratches. The frame is OK, but the plastics that were put on, don't quite fit perfect (see pics). The steering head feels like it has a notch in it when you turn it. This is most likely due to it needing bearings. The rear tire should be replaced in the near future and the engine has a tick in it. My bestr guess is that it should get a valve adjustment. The rear seat has a tear in it and the chain and sprockets should be replaced in the near future.The only other thing we noticed was that the seat lock works, but it's not attached to the bike. The front tire, wheel bearings, front and rear brakes, fork seals, blinkers, windshield, tank, clutch, transmission, fenders, battery, electrical, stator, cooling system and cam chain tensioner are all in good working condition. This could be a great bike for the right person. If you're looking for a great project, here's your chance! We recommend checking everything over on this bike before you ride it as we will not do a pre-delivery inspection prior to delivery!
