Vehicle Detail

1985 Caprice Classic V8/305 Engine with under 70K original miles!!! I bought this car from the original owner 3 years ago and brought it back to life. When I purchased it the only thing good on it was the engine and the interior was immaculate, even the head liner. Since then I have put a new two-tone paint job on it (Honey Gold on top, Bronze on bottom) which looks amazing on a sunny day. The car also has a new 4 barrel Carb, plugs and wires, alternator and belt, cap and rotar, drive belts, muffler with dual-exhaust, water pump, grille, radiator, pvc valve, speedometer, and fuel pump. I have also took the engine out and resealed the gaskets. So as you see I have put a few thousand into her. After I did all that, she ran beautifully and the duals sound amazing. I get compliments everywhere I go because she is that clean. I have another car I drive daily so I usually drive the Caprice on the weekend only. Well last week I went to fire her up and when I turned the key I got nothing. I checked the fuse box and I found a blown EGR fuse. Its the fuse that controls all the power options (Windows, locks, radio, etc.) Anyway I changed that and still got nothing. The battery is good and the interior lights come on, so its probably a simple connection, or the EGR switch is bad. At this point I cant afford to put any more money in her because Im in college and I just dont have it. Im not a mechanic either and my friend close his shop and moved to DC, so its basically just sitting there. The rear driver side tire is flat now too. If you are mechanically inclined, this would be a sweet deal for a classic car well kept. I also spoke to my mechanic in DC and he said the problem is most likely in the battery cables. He told me that even though the car is getting juice to power the lights, its not getting enough to crank the car or power the other accessories. Oh and before when I mentioned the EGR fuse, I meant the ECM fuse. I just checked the 1985 manual. I told you I wasnt mechanically inclined. I also just lowered the reserve to $1000, so happy bidding!!!
