Vehicle Detail

This car is being relisted because the previous high bidder was from a foreign county and was unable to make the arrangments to pay for and ship the car. Please do not bid unless you are prepared to follow through. This is my 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa coupe in beautiful condition that I'm selling with no reserve. It has the lift-off "Targa" roof panel that stores in the trunk, making this a convertible car. This car has absolutely no body rust anywhere- the car is originally from Texas and it has never seen salt or snow. It has the original "white gold" paint in very good condition, just a few tiny nicks and scratches like you might expect for a car of this age. The car does not leak a drop of fluids, and it is completely clean and dry underneath. This is a fantastic example of a classic 911 in excellent condition. The car needs nothing- it is ready to drive and enjoy exactly the way it is. This car drives like a dream and it is incredibly fast and powerful. The car has just been inspected and serviced by Autobahn Extremist in OH and pronounced to be a superb car in every way. The engine starts smoothly and it is powerful and sounds great. It has a dual exhaust setup that sounds slightly more aggressive than stock without being objectionable. The transmission shifts well, and all the synchros are good- with the short shift kit it takes just a minute to get used to the shorter shift throws and tighter pattern. The clutch grabs right off the floor and feels great. The brakes are excellent and the suspension is tight, and the handling is outstanding. There are no suspension rattles, and the car is as tight any you will ever find. The upholstery is in like-new condition, and the carpets and interior are very nice. It has a superb (several thousand-dollar) sound system as well, with a CD head unit and Alpine amplifier with high-quality aftermarket speakers. The car has an aformentioned short-shift kit, which I don't personally care for, but it has NO mechanical problems of any kind. The air conditioning works, and blows cold air. I would not hesitate to take this car on a cross-country trip anywhere. Feel free to fly and and I will pick you up at the airport (Cleveland) and you can drive this beauty home anywhere. The tires are nearly new- excellent tread remaining. This car is 26 years old and it has normal wear and tear that you should expect on a car of this age. It is solid, clean and in great condition, any reasonable person will be thrilled to own this collectible gem of a Porsche. I have the books and manuals plus a car cover to go with the car. I have the car stored in my garage in Willoughby, OH. The car has 129,000 miles, but the odometer has been replaced with one showing 25,000 miles. The previous owner replaced the odometer when the original one broke. Again, the TOTAL mileage on the car is approx 129,000. The odometer and title will read 25,000 miles, non-actual. Yes, the air conditioning WORKS, and it blows cold. In the 90's this was deemed to be archaic and "non-sporty". Many cars were upgraded with short-shift kits that was more in style for sporting cars. Shifting has never been a strong suit in air-cooled 911s, so these kits changed the shifting from vague and sloppy to tight and notchy. Neither is outstanding. I have posted a photo of a diagram of the shift pattern of this car with the short-shift kit. If you follow this pattern you will never miss a shift. On Jul-19-11 at 19:51:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Two minor issues to note- the power locks are finicky, and so are the controls for the power driver's seat.On Aug-03-11 at 11:45:38 PDT, seller added the following information:On Aug-03-11 at 11:46:44 PDT, seller added the following information:On Aug-03-11 at 11:49:13 PDT, seller added the following information:
