Vehicle Detail
This TR6 is a California car. The original owner, who drove the car for most of its life, put it up as collateral in a high stakes poker game. He lost! After 20+ years in dry storage, the TR6 had a complete no-expense spared mechanical restoration consisting of new clutch, pressure plate, seals, original type green engine hoses, rebuilt four speed transmission, distributor, clutch & brake master slave and wheel cylinders, fuel pump, carbs, gas tank removed and cleaned, new fuel lines, new battery. It has a current Nevada smog. The car roars into life at the first turn of the key. Recently tested, the engine meets original specifications, probably even better. Excellent compression, oil pressure. It accelerates and cruises as it should. Smooth operating clutch. Very effective brakes. An exceptionally strong performer. It does not have overdrive; a plus from my perspective as these are often troublesome electrically. It comes with original Triumph tools, plus extras like a fire extinguisher. The exterior is a very attractive Royal Blue with red accent stripe and rear fender badges. We cannot see any sign of collision damage. The chassis has most of its original factory black paint. When we had it up on a lift, we could see no apparent rot. Sadly, we forgot to take photos when it was up on the lift. We only have some from the ground. The convertible top is brand new. Comes with boot top. The color matches the wood dash. 5 barely worn Michelin MXV 205/60/R15 90H tires. The car is stock except for the rollover bar, which is easily detachable if you want to return car to its original specification. The tan interior reflects it's low mileage. The seats are like new. No rips, tears, wear. Seat belts are original Stanpart lap and shoulder retractable. New carpeting. Original Leyland radio and speakers. Crash pads shown were a factory extra. Windows crank as they should. Owners and factory handbook. Numerous bills, smog certificate. The car is much admired when shown at local British car shows. . This is our personal car. My wife and I are not dealers. There is no reserve on this car. TR6s are becoming collector's cars and can fetch very high prices. Many motoring journalists consider this to the best British sports car, bar none.
