Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my trusty 1979 Chevy Blazer K5. I have had this truck for almost 8 years, and have done a lot of work to it. Here is a complete rundown of everything I can think of to list for it. Important: Truck will not pass California smog, so be aware it is your responsibility to repair that aspect of it. Due to the fact this is a 1979 truck, it is old, and must be sold as is, with no returns. Click here for a video tour of the truck, and to hear it No rust, or frame cracks I can see on this truck. The odometer reads at 58,000 miles but the engine has only about 10-15,000 miles. This truck was listed here a week ago, but a private buyer fell through so it is back on here. The truck is available for local sale, so if your interested, let me know and I will hold out on here rather than pull it off. Exterior: We just cut out all rust we could find, and repaired all places (about 5 spots). While we were at it, we retouched much of the truck, and resprayed clear on much of it as well so it looks pretty shiny in many spots, and the rest still looks pretty good as well. There are some chips here and there, and a few scratches, but nothing I would call that major. The video and pictures show it well. I am including a new rear window seal because the old one is a little cracked up. It has a custom billet grill on the fron that I added. Also, it has a chrome push bar over the bumper. I added a pair of Pro Comp 6" Stainless lights to the bar, and some fog lights down at the bottom. All lights work on truck, other than interior cabin lights, and reverse lights. New rear light lenses. The Interior is pretty clean, it is black. I have a fire extinguisher mounted behind the driver so just in case, it is there. Speedometer does not work as of now, but I believe it is just the speedo cable, I have replaced it, and it began to work, but stopped working shortly after, and I noticed the cable is pinched, so they may have sold me one that was too short. I am including a second speedometer as well since I have one. The odometer reads about 58,000 miles but since the speedo does not work, I dont know New seat covers, may need new seatbelt in 1 or 2 of the backseats. The drives side seat is pretty badly torn up, it feels fine with a cover, but you will need to keep a cover on it. The window wipers work, the bright switch for headlights works. Ignition cylinder needs to be replaced as it can be jiggled loose. Oil gauge, volts, water and gas work fine. Horn does not work, but I have a horn repair kit I am including with new contacts that may fix it. I added keyless ignition to the truck, and have all the interior pieces in the dash. Kenwood stereo, with 4- Sony 6x9 3-way speakers. Cigarette lighter works, and dash lights work. The engine: V8 350, about 6 or so years old, bought a crate from a Chevy dealership. My honest guess is there is only about 10-15,000 miles on this engine, I only drive about 3 miles to work, and that's about it. It starts strong, runs great, runs cool. The air filter is a K&N with breathable lid, the carburetor is an Edelbrock (shiny) 650 CFM, on top of an Edelbrock Intake Manifold, all bought when the engine was new. It has a newer water pump, fuel filter, master cylinder. The Truck has power steering and power brakes. Fronts are disc, rears are drums. It has a Turbo 350 transmission, with an NP203 transfer case. The transmission was dropped with a drop kit (about 1.5"). It is to help the angle of the drive shaft since the truck was lifted. Also, the drive shaft and transmission were upgraded where they mate, with 3/4 ton size - 1350 - U-joints and yokes. 12-bolt rear end and 10-bolt corporate front differential. Gears are 4.56 in the rear, but 3.73 in front so you have to change the fronts before you hook the front drive shaft back up. Before I added the gears I did test out the front shaft and it worked. The exhaust is Flowmaster dual exhaust off the stock exhaust manifolds. It has some leaks, but sounds powerful. Real deep tone. Optima Red top battery w/ new battery tray. Recently replaced vacuum lines to trans. The AC, heater and defroster do not work. The unit in the interior is there though. The heater core was disconnected a few years back, but I have a new one and new hoses that I am including. I have an AC pump (shown in the pics), and some of the AC parts that I am including. New drivers side door handle. The suspension: The steering has quite a bit of play in the wheel, but it is easy to drive when you get the hang of it. I believe it is caused by worn bushings in the steering components. Tires are 35"x12.5x15" Pro comp mud terrain. I bought them in September 2008, and they hadly have any usage out of them, and have never been offroaded. Rims are 15" deep Eagles, 8-hole. It is a 4 or 6" front lift by leaf springs. The rear is a 4" block with a 1" zerorate on the spring pack, so it is 5" lift in the back. Truck has a fullsize hitch. Shell has tinted windows, but glass from the truck has been freshly scraped of the old 80s tint it once had. Clean trim, and clean bumpers. Only a couple small door dings on the truck. No E-brake, but I do have most of the parts, many brand new that I will include, they are shown in the pics. No reverse lights, they just don't work for some reason. I bought new sockets and bulbs for the reverse, parking and brake lights that will be included as well to replace the old ones. The transmission has a leak, I think it is the gasket but am not sure. The trans runs great. The passenger side window crank is a little chewed up, so that may need to be replaced, I replaced the driver side crank a few years ago, was pretty easy and only about $25 on ebay. Spare tire (33" mud terrain) is included. New Starter and fresh oil change. Ready to drive! Any questions feel free to ask, thanks for looking and I will update this as things come to mind
