Vehicle Detail

Here we have a matching numbers 1963 Porsche 356B Super project. This car needs a lot of work, but the good news is that some of the really hard stuff has either been taken care of or is well underway. You also get lots of original parts that would cost you big if you had to buy them one by one. Good: The original matching numbers engine has undergone a rebuild and has zero miles since the work was performed by a previous owner. The engine also looks great (see pic) so you won't be spending a lot of time detailing the powerplant. Good: New floor pans have been welded in and are solid as a rock. They will need some finishing before you call it done but the scary part has been taken care of. New longitudinals are included but not yet installed. The rest of the story is not as glorious. The previous owner of this 356 had far more courage than skill when it came to body repair, and he dabbled in every amateur body repair method you can think of. You will find fiberglass, pop rivets, filler, tape and maybe bubble gum in the body. Some of his repairs will suffice for a driver quality resto, others may need to be undone and redone. For example, the battery box has three different types of material involved -- original box, a proper battery box repair panel, and a strip of riveted sheet metal. It's amateur, but on the other hand it's together. There is still lots of body work and rust repair to be done on the body and underside, but take it day by day and you can get it back together. There are no seats included, and any part that is not pictured is not included. The bottom line is this is a matching numbers car that can be bought for the price of a 356 project with no engine at all! It will never win any shows, but if you do the work you will have a 356 driver that's running its original engine -- nothing to sneeze at. I am a 356 Registry member with an eBay feedback rating of 100%, so bid without worry. All questions will be answered quickly and honestly, feel free to ask.
