Vehicle Detail
I'm the second owner of this bike. This is a nice rider and I wanted to be a little different so I painted it House of Kolor Limetime pearl with a healthy dose of lime green metal flake. And no matter how hard I try, I just can't get any pics to do it justice. It goes great with the original colored decals and stripes. It has New NOS tank badges. New NOS fuel petcock. Inside of tank is clean. Carbs were completely dismantled, every piece and screw and professionally rebuilt/restored. All new Zink coated screws and brackets with polished bowls and tops. Look like new. Put a new battery in it last year. New stainless steel braided oil lines. New valve cover gasket and mounting grommets. New front and rear LED turn sigs. Rear brake caliper completely rebuilt with new piston and seal. Tires like new. Custom 6 into 1 exhaust system with a newer style sport bike muffler. Sounds absolutely wicked. Not to loud but aggressive. Sounds like a Ferrari or Indy car. Which could tend to get you into trouble! New seat cover. I did the 530 chain/sprocket conversion. New gold o-ring chain and both new sprockets. This bike handles very nice and when you nail it, you tend to hold on tight! I've owned the bike for a couple years now. I purchased it from a local guy who bought it new. On the left front part of the engine case, there is a tab there that the previous owner had some home made highway pegs mounted to and apparently he knocked it against something and broke the tab (see pic) this is only cosmetic and could actually be ground down to look like there was no tab. But honestly, people don't notice it. This bike is snappy and will get with the program. I had decided a while back that I was going to sell it. Only because I'm building a nice little Cafe racer and my wife is after me to get rid of some toys so going to try and make her happy. But if it doesn't sell, I'll continue to ride it and enjoy it. As I ride it daily to work, weather permitting. This bike is a 32 year old rare classic that has not had a concourse restoration. It's a very nice rider that is meant to ride. So you will find a screw head here and there with some surface rust. There's defiantly room to improve or just enjoy it. Replace some bolts or screws here and there if you please. The bike was always stored in a climate controlled shop. If you are looking for a perfect, completely original bike with no miles, this one's not for you. If you want a rare bike that you can go out and enjoy and has a color that pops and people will stop you all the time when you go places to look at it, then this bike is for you. I changed the color because I didn't want to pull up next to another CBX that is exactly the same as mine. I dare to be different but not to much so that the bike can't easily be put back to original. Please email me with any questions you may have. The bike is sold as is where is with no warranties or returns. If you are close enough to come see it, you are more than welcome. I believe you will be please with what you see. Thanks for looking! Here are some videos: http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d110/dwildman2/1979%20Honda%20CBX%201000%20Super%20Sport/?action=view¤t=SDC18590.mp4 http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d110/dwildman2/1979%20Honda%20CBX%201000%20Super%20Sport/?action=view¤t=SDC18591.mp4 http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d110/dwildman2/1979%20Honda%20CBX%201000%20Super%20Sport/?action=view¤t=SDC18592.mp4 OK, I've been recieving emails of how the color makes it worth $2000 (ha, ha) and that me stating that it's a no reserve auction is twisted because that's a reserve. There is NO reserve which makes it a no reserve auction. Will go to the highest bidder. I'm not interested in the negitivity of people who sit in front of the computer and think the are appraisers and experts. Keep it to your self and respect that I just have my bike listed to sell. This bike is as nice as any others on here and it's a rider. Colors can easily be changed and stock exhaust can be bought. Just asking the negetive people out there to keep it to themselves. thank you!
