1972 Volkswagon Van, 2 Liter 4 cylinder engine. Engine is a factory rebuild, larger than the original 3.4. Runs great, body is solid. Last year drove it from San Antonio to Ohio in January with no problems. Beautiful red and white paint job, looks gorgeous. Working fan, no AC. Drove it in Texas during the summer, it does not get too hot with the fan on and a window cracked. Heater under dashboard does not work, needs wired up. That made the winter trip uncomfortable. The heater is gas-fired, draws from the gas tank and warms up fast when it is working. Knob toppers on vent and heat levers are missing, panel under dash is missing. One seat has vintage upholstery, one seat has generic. The original vans came with a ducted hood in the engine compartment that directed heat to the defroster as a backup heater. Duct is missing but the defrost works, slowly. Transmission is smooth, manual with H-style pattern. Clutch grab is defiantly noticeable, you learn it in no time. Front wheels are behind the front seats so it turns tighter than you'd think. Original VW turn signal circuit and headlights are faulty, installed own system on a separate switch under dash. Original system is still in place if you want to fix it. Carburator is after-market, original was leaking. Plastic around steering wheel cracked, installed trucker ball to make long distance driving easier. Rear and middle seats were removed to help me transport a motorscooter, I have them in Texas. If you want the seats I am willing to ship them for no charge. Loads of compliments when driving, lots of fun to take out for a ride. Buyer must pick up or arrange for shipping
