Vehicle Detail

up for sale is a 1971 super beetle convertible project car. this is the first year of the super beetle convertible as you v- dub folks know. this car is getting harder and harder to find so don't miss your chance to own a cool piece of automotive history. i'm a very honest person and want you to know what your bidding on no b.s. or sugar coating here. the good, this car has a very strong 1600 dual port single carb engine with fresh oil, plugs, plug wires and electric fuel pump. i just converted it from the old 30 amp generator to a brand new 60 amp alternator with new belt. the seats are like brand new front and rear. the top is in fair shape with a couple of small tears and works great it has also has a glass rear window. the floor pans have been replaced both front and rear. the trunk area of the car is solid as well as the engine compartment. the car also has solid steel wheels wrapped in new rubber. ok thats the good here's, the bad, there is some rust on this car it is 40 years old after all the main areas are in the left rear wheel well it goes all the way through. but that panel is cheap to replace. some dumb ass also cut a section out behind the rear seat so they could get to the starter and other stuff. this is a pretty be area big i have two pieces of diamond plating that i was going to put in that area i'll give it to you if want to use it. the transmission is an auto stick the car will not go in gear from some reason. it was working fine two weeks ago i moved the car and may have knocked something loose during the process. i believe it is a simple fix i just don't have time for this car because i have another project. i've set the reserve pretty low so don't try and low ball me. if you want to trade the only things i'm interested in is an old iron head sportster, boat, and dual sport motorcycle. plus if you are the lucky winner of this little bug it's up to you to come and get it. also it's sold as is and you get every extra part i have for this car. On Jul-25-11 at 21:10:00 PDT, seller added the following information: i just wanted to update every one that i fixed the transmission it was indeed a hose that was loose. it goes into gear and shifts just fine now.
