This was a car that was purchased brand new in Europe in 1968 as a European Model. It has European instruments, European bumpers and European headlights. It does not have the un-desired side marker lights. It does come with both the hard top and the black canvas soft top. The soft top remains in good condition with a nice clear window. This 280SL runs and drives really well. The automatic transmission shifts nicely. The brakes and power steering is in good condition. The engine is powerful with good oil pressure and no smoke. I recently had a new exhaust system installed. The chrome throughout this car is in nice condition with a nice shine. The paint shows really well with a good shine. Please note the photographs of the underside of the car. This car has spent all it's life in dry climate. This car remains with it's original floors that has not been welded. Many people will not show photographs of the underside. These are honest photographs of the underside. This 280SL has air conditioning that actually works and blows cold air. It also has the original Mercedes Benz gas cap and lock. The interior shows well with good carpeting. It is fitted with black leather seats that are in good condition. All the lights work correctly.
