This car runs well, but the transmission takes some cajoling to motivate it down the road. The tranny will need rebuilding or replacing; it's a project, but the reserve is low enough to make it worth it. I bought it on ebay with the plan to fix the transmission and turn it into a WVO machine, but a switch in jobs and a 1000 mile move nixed those plans, so I am trying to get it off the front lawn. The bullet proof 5 cylinder motor, famous for its longevity, starts right up and runs like a top. It's loud, but it's a diesel, that's to be expected. I estimate that it gets about 30mpg average. The speedometer has not worked since I have owned it; I suspect that is related to the transmission issues. The interior is above average with a small hole in the driver's seat and and some miss-fitting on the console. As I said, this car will get up and down the road, but you really have to work it to make it happen, so you should be prepared to trailer it wherever you need to take it. It's located in Tuscumbia, AL and will be available for pick-up there.
