Up for auction is this 1978 Karman Edition Classic Beetle convertible. This car is from one of regular customers that is a proud owner of many VW'S and traded this in to make his pride and joy Ghia complete. The exterior of the car is brown with a white top and white interior, This Beetle is a great running daily driving car. Because of the original fuel injection, it shifts very smooth thru all 4 gears and has a very stong 1600 cc engine. The interior is in very nice clean condition and the body is solid. It could use some paint work, but is in very presentable condition without it. This 1978 Super Beetle Vert originally came with air conditioning and though it seems to be missing some of the components to make the A/C complete we honestly feel like it won't be very hard to get it working properlly. First, this VW Converttible is the Champaigne Edition which is a special edition that they did on some of the VW. I also have the birth certificate of the vehicle. The previous owner has VW make up a Birth Certificate for the vehicle which tells you the date it was made, it lists the vin number and some other intresting information. I am going to add the picture of the certificate. Last thing I have is the owners manual for this 1978 VW Beetle (glove box manual) which comes along with the warranty and maintenance guide. Obviously there is no warranty but it is original to the car and interesting to have along with it. This VW Beetle "Champaigne Edition" has the wood grain dash with the original working VDO clock in the dash. Our companies name is Hilltop Motors, so the reason the car looks as though it is leaning is because I took a picture of it on a hill. (I found out that this is not a good idea at all) The new set of pictures is set on flat ground so you can see that the frame is straight and the wheels are balanced. You can see from the listing we had this listed at another point in time but due to todays economic times we decided it's time to sell..sell...sell... So the reserve is set much lower than the value of this car. (a zero before the 5) This could mean that the odometer rolled and it started again or perhaps the odometer stopped working at some point. I can't be 100 percent on the mileage. I apologize that I keep adding details to this listing. I am very confident that whom ever purchases this vehicle will be more than satisfied with it but I do not want to mislead anyone or give any false information about the vehicle.
