Vehicle Detail

1929 Chevrolet Coach (2-door Sedan) in very good original running condition. This car was placed into dry warehouse storage forty-eight years ago by a young man who was leaving for college. He lost interest in the car and left it there for many years. He retired earlier this year, decided that he was no longer interested in the car, and offered it for sale. I purchased it sight unseen, retrieved it from storage, and trailered it home. I do not have enough garage space to keep the car. I have just finished giving the car a thorough mechanical going-over, complete service, spruce-up, and repaired the few things that needed work. I pre-lubed the engine, hand cranked it, raised oil pressure, and started it. The car runs great, burns no oil, and everything important works. It has no rust-through, no significant body damage, solid wood throughout, and is in amazingly good condition. The paint cleaned up nicely and I did some touchup work, but is a 60 year old paint job with the requisite scratches and blemishes. The interior (which is not original) is tired and should be replaced at some point. The driver’s window is broken; I have ordered a replacement and will install it before the car is sold. The rear brake shoes are oil-soaked due to someone overfilling the differential. I have lowered the level back to normal, but the brake shoes will have to be degreased. The heater is not connected, but does appear to work. The carburetor is not original to the car. The car starts easily, drives well, and is a pleasure on the road. This car will make a great “fix-up” project, a super candidate for a frame-off restoration, or could easily be driven as is. I have put about 10 miles on it just to be sure everything is in order. I own several of these early Chevys, and this one runs as nicely as any of them. CAVEAT: This is an eighty-two year old car. It has not been restored and is by no means perfect. It is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty and no guarantees as to its condition. I’ve tried to describe it accurately, but you must be the judge. Look closely at the photos, ask questions, come have a look in person if you like. I am listing this car to sell it and I ask that you only bid on it if you are serious about buying it. If you have less than ten ebay transactions or negative feedback, you should call me before bidding, or I will cancel your bid. The winning bidder must make a deposit of $500 within 48 hours of the end of the auction using PayPal and must pay the balance within three days either in cash or by bank transfer. The car must be picked up within 30 days. For an additional charge of $2.00 per loaded mile (payable in advance), I will deliver the car from Asheville, NC to any location within 500 miles. The car is also being offered for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you’re interested in the car, feel free to call me at 828-450-0123 between 8am and 6pm Eastern time. I’ll be happy to answer your questions as accurately as I can. You can also ask questions via ebay. Good luck bidding! Again, no reserve and a solid, undamaged 1929 Chevy “Stovebolt Six”.
