Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GORGEOUS LOOKING 1966 FORD MUSTANG HARDTOP C-CODE 289 V8 WITH 38K MILES ON THE ODOMETER (BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL) THAT HAS BEEN CLONED TO A SHELBY GT 350 AS YOU CAN SEE. DONE NICELY! VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Factory Options: 1) Manual steering 2) Manual brakes 3) Single exhaust 4) Automatic C4 transmission 5) Bucket seats w/floor shift 6) C-CODE 289ci/200hp 2V motor (UPGRADED with COBRA package and chrome pieces) 7) Period correct American Racing Torque Thrust II Wheels with BF Goodrich white letter radial tires 8) UPGRADED Shelby GT 350 appearance package 9) Painted front spoiler The car comes from Pennsylvania. I've had it for about 6 months now and have been redoing the car a little at a time. It was purchased at Carlisle during the spring meet from a vendor that basically had finished painting it and putting new floors in the car. When I took it back home I started adding the Shelby GT 350 parts, such as the hood scoop, side scoops, gas cap, lower body stripe, fender "high-performance" emblems, front spoiler, bullet mirrors Shelby steering wheel etc. I even located a set of vintage American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels in decent shape and put BF Goodrich tires on them. Most of the chrome is new as well, including both bumpers. Interior is mostly new with newer seat covers, carpet, door panels, armrests and dash pad as well as the steering wheel. I had my mechanic go through the motor to make sure the car started up fine and ran well, which it does and it has good power as well. The entire engine bay was upgraded as well with finned valve covers, Cobra air cleaner, chrome export brace and monte carlo bar, to give it that distinct look. This was a FACTORY C-CODE 289 V8 car to begin with. Interior is in EXCELLENT condition with minor wear here and there. Everything is just about new, missing only the headliner, two trim pieces in the front of the dash pad holding it down by the windshield and rear sail panels, as well as radio. Overall a excellent driver quality interior! Under the hood lies the stock 289ci/200hp 2V motor which has been rebuilt in the late 90s and has less than 5000 miles on it from what I was told by previous owner. Has Hi-Po fender emblems! Starts easily and sounds great . Good stock power overall. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it with minor tlc, just tune it the way you want and you're ready to go. I've driven it mostly around town here and there, on the way to a local cruise night or car show, never on any long trips. Underside has ALL NEW FLOORBOARDS that seemed to have been professionally installed. Frame rails appear to be pretty solid with some welding evidence by front driver's side. Good shock towers. Trunk is nice and SOLID as well with a couple of small patches. Overall well above your average rusted out Mustang underside. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up NICELY with good luster for a nice driver (NOT a showcar of course). Some minor imperfections here and there as this was NOT a $20k paintjob obviously (minor chips, couple of scratches here and there, couple of body panels could use better alignment, hood has some small dents). Flywheel grinds a bit during start-up but always starts up fine. Brakes could use some attention as they are low (most likely needs a master cylinder) but do work somewhat if you pump them up. Could use door and window weather-stripping. Not working: horn, a couple of the smaller gauges, horn, could use some new bulbs here and there as needed. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. OVERALL IT'S A BEAUTIFUL CRUISER THAT COULD EASILY BE A DAILY DRIVER WITH SOME FINISHING WORK AND TLC. HOP IN AND DRIVE IT WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN AND ENJOY THE WEATHER AND FINISH RESTORING IT AS YOU SEE FIT. VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF A BEAUTIFUL 1966 MUSTANG C-CODE 289 V8 WITH SHELBY GT 350 TRIM AND 38K MILES ON THE ODOMETER!. Contact me at (917) 749-4302 cell or e-mail MBOTERASHV@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
