Vehicle Detail
I sold this car two weeks ago and received a deposit, but the buyer could not complete the transaction. So it is back up for sale. I have a reputation of giving long winded descriptions of cars that I list here on Ebay. But I like folks to know exactly what they are bidding on so that there are no unpleasant surprises. And everyone has always been happy with their purchase from me. I've sold about 30 cars from about $5k to $40k over the last few years on here. I am a 1st generation Camaro FREAK. I've been restoring them over 30 years now and I'm about to get the hang of it. I rate my cars as "A" , "B" or "C" cars. An "A" is a National Contender, never, ever to be driven. A "B" is almost too nice to drive and will win consistantly at the local shows. A "C" is a super nice driver that will pick up a trophy now and then. This car is a "C" type car. I have a lot of requests for good builders. So sometimes I just take a car up to the point where all the hard, scarey metal work is done and someone can finish it out to their own taste. That's the case here. On to the car. I got this car from a fellow who had already spent a lot of money on it, but needed to sell it. The car had already been completely disassembled and media blasted. He had rebuilt the subframe assembly with new ball joints, A-arm bushings, inner and outer tie rod ends, stabilizer links, idler arm and pitman arm and then painted it. It had scratches here and there from moving it around, so I scuffed it and applied a coat of PPG DP-90 epoxy sealer over it. The 10 bolt had been rebuilt with new bearings, seals, new Eaton Posi unit and 3:08 gears and painted. I likewise sealed it and the multi leaf springs with epoxy sealer. Had no doors or front clip. The body shell was 100% rust free, but the quarters and tail panel were dinged up pretty much everywhere. The car was originally a 350, 124 VIN, auto with power steering and air. The motor and trans. were long gone. Was originally Hugger Orange with Orange and Black Houndstooth interior. I replaced both quarter skins and the tail panel. Nice original decklid, new rear spoiler. Super solid original trunk pan, extensions, shock areas, drop offs, inner and outer wheel wells, roof, window openings, floor, firewall, rockers, etc. I replaced the dash panel because someone had cut it up and riveted in a race style aluminum panel. I had a super nice set of original doors that I had stashed back for a car of this caliber. All metal work was all done with a plasma cutter and mig welder using solid steel core wire (no flux core ever). Once all the cutting, welding and grinding were done, the rough in body work was done and the outer shell and doors were given a coat of a rust inhibiting polyester primer. It was then longboarded with 80 grit and reprimed twice, then longboarded with 180 grit and reprimed with black lacquer primer. I would recommend that the complete outside be longboarded, polyester puttied and reprimed 2 or 3 times to make it super slick before painting just to get rid of any small ripples or sand scratches. Then the bottom of the car was sealed with epoxy sealer as well as the floors, dash and firewall. The bottom of the shell is super clean with no undercoating or rust pitting, just smooth sealer. Looks great as is or could easily be scuffed and painted. The subframe assembly was installed with new bushings and hardware. The rearend was installed with new shackles. The a/c box, steering column and instrument cluster was then installed. A complete new front clip was then installed including new fenders and extensions, new inner fenders, new lower valance , new header panel, new core support, new cowl hood, new cowl panel, new hood latch and striker. The car has fairly new drum brakes all around but no rear drums. Will need new master cylinder, brake line to rear and new fuel line. Has 15x7 Rallys with roller tires, decent center caps and new stainless trim rings. Has nice original tinted glass in the doors that roll up and down smooth. Parts that not are installed but go with the car include: Wiring (good used) Nice original quarter glasses (both will need new bottom rollers), tracks and regulators. Good seat cores. Good glovebox door Good ashtray assembly New gas tank, 3/8" sending unit, sender wire and mounting straps. New front and rear bumpers with new bolts and all new front and rear bumper brackets. COMPLETE new hideaway and grill kit New taillight lenses New reverse light assemblies New side markers and bezels New rocker moldings New wheel well moldings New deluxe inner door pull mechanisms and handles New driprail moldings New door mirror New outerdoor handles New quarter louvers New battery tray New shaded and tinted windshield w/ new gasket Good original tinted back glass w/new gasket New complete one key fits all lockset New complete SS emblem kit Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Or by all means come and take a look at the car before bidding. Car is sold as is, where is. I will need a $500.00 non-refundable deposit via Paypal with balance due within 5 days via Bank Wire Transfer or cash in hand. I have a clear Arkansas title in my name. If you use the wire transfer method, I can sign the title and overnight it to you once full payment is made. I can carefully pack all the loose parts inside the car and store the car inside for up to 30 days if need be. I can help load the car for you or for a transport company for you. I do it all the time. The car still has a long way to go,but is an awesome start with very desirable options. There will be no Buy it now on this one. No reserve. High bidder owns it.
