Vehicle Detail
1990 Chevrolet R3500 Crew Cab 2 wheel drive 114000 miles (odometer has rolled over) TBI 350 V8 with Turbo 400 transmission (T400) 4.11 or 4.53 rear end (not sure which) Truck starts easily, runs well. I was getting about 12 mpg when I was using it regularily. This truck was originally an Ohio Edison line truck. I purchased it here on Ebay in 2006. The gentleman who owned it before me used it to haul his race car trailer for a couple summers. The large red topper comes with the truck. It does not fit this style Chevy exactly, look at the photos and you will see it is a couple inches too narrow. I was told that it fits the next body style newer Chevrolets properly. It is usable however, and has logged many miles on this truck. I will not separate it from the vehicle, must go with it. I installed new rear springs in 2006 4 new tires in 2006 New starter in 2008 New battery in 2010 New muffler in 2010 I have only driven it about 8000 miles since I got it. Comes with two extra side view mirrors. The ignition key is broken off in the ignition, I have used it this way since I got it with no problems. I actually like not having to worry about a key for it. However, a new ignition cylinder with two keys is included if you would like to install it. Look at the pictures carefully, there is some rust, though less than average for this year truck in this region. Two smallish holes punctured in the bed, one is visible on the RH rear wheel arch in the bed, the other is in the LH rear of the bed. Ohio Edison dropped a couple large things I suppose. The red topper is a little bent on the lower rear area, the door latches a little hard due to this. If you choose, you could fix this. There is a 5 mph speedometer error, when it indicates 50, you are actually going 55. This error seems consistent, 30 = 35, etc. RH fuel tank has a leak, so I don't use it. The LH fuel tank works just fine. If you look at the photos carefully, especially comparing the LH and RH side views, you can see at the rear wheel wells, there is about a 2 inch difference in the gap between the tire and the well arch. With the topper installed, truck sits a little lower on the left. I do not know why. As mentioned above, new rear springs were installed in 2006. That's all the negatives that can't be seen in the pics easily. All that said, this is a good work truck. It needs a new home, I really don't have a use for it, I never really did I guess. I will not deliver this vehicle, it is not registered or insured. You will have to make arrangements to pick it up here in Au Gres, MI. (48703) Please let me know if you have any questions.
