Vehicle Detail
1972 Volkswagen Poptop Westfalia Camper Bus Classic….No ReSeRve! Early Baywindow Tent. When Volkswagen transitioned to the baywindow or breadloaf model with large single curved windshield and sliding side door, the Westfalia camper was modified to include an angled poptop. This design provided space for a large child's cot overhead, and on later models, the poptop was further enlarged to fit a full bed large enough for two adults. Yes Folks, here we have up for auction is a 1972 Volkswagen Poptop Westfalia Camper Bus. It was restored about three years ago and shows really nice. The two tone classic brown and cream paint is clean and do not show any visible rust. It does show a little wear and here are some paint touches up areas but hey it’s a daily camper! The VIN numbers match the interior body, rear back seat area and even the engine compartment. This Westfalia camper bus is a poptop so it gives that tall vertical area which creates a feel of a roomier living space. The interior is New, new, new. The whole interior was done about 6 months ago with upgraded two tone vinyl. The panels was replace by custom wood panels all around from top to side to side…then varnished for the classic wood cabin feel. Even the floors got some attention to with removal wood floors. There are mobile cushion chairs and two folding tables for to enjoy dinner inside out of the rain when needed. Yes, the water faucet still works!!! Don’t forget to close those matching brown Hawaiian window treatments and push slide down the bench seat to create that foam bed for an all-night nap. You want to enjoy the breeze from the inside, then go ahead and put up the rear screen window to keep the bugs out. 1970 VW Camper Interior Various Foldout seat arrangements for sleeping Birch plywood interior panels Laminated plywood cabinetry for storageIce box or cold-box Sink (some models) Water storage and pump Electrical hookups Curtains Screened Jalousie Windows Laminated folding table The VW Bay Window Camper van, still recognized as a Type 2, was first produced in 1967 and continued being produced in 1979. It was much superior on the split screen, offering a faintly greater body so could carry greater loads, larger and more dominant engines up to a 2 litre model towards the end of production, better wirings, a more advanced and relaxed ride. However for many the bay window absences the original design of the Splittie. It is really the Bay Window bus that really fast-tracked the use of these exclusive vans as a mobile home or camper van. These vans were transformed by various firms, such as Westfalia (also known as a Westy, Danbury, Devon, Dormobile and Viking. These firms presented diverse interior configurations for sleeping, cooking and storage as well as divergent elevating roof types. These ranged from small staight up vertical pop top roofs to front hinged, rear hinged and side hinged roofs, sleeping between 2 to 7 people! The electrical works great on this car…from the signal, brake and running lights. The engine is a stock 1800cc with dual carbs. Starts up every single time but as always, please warm it up to enjoy those hang loose hand up ride all day long. *****************For search engine**************** (early, oval, rare, old, parts convertible, vw, antique, vintage, classic, collector, hot item, Volkswagen, vw, split, sedan, accessory, empi, judson, bus, bug, beetle, 1, 2 You will not find a Volkswagen Convertible Beetle Bug for this Price with this condition!!! < TERMS and Condition: Winning bidder must send a nonrefundable deposit of 10% of the final price within 3 days after auction end.
