Vehicle Detail
I have decided that i am never going to finish/wheel this thing and it makes me sad to see it sit. I'm too old and it is too big! It is a 1971 GMC Jimmy with about 9K on the odometer (I'm assuming 109K). It has a good running 350 w/ a Q-jet TH350 Shifts fine NP205 Shifts fine CUCV axles Dana 60 front 4.56 gears with open diff (needs front shaft lengthened and installed) 14-bolt rear with 4.56 gears and disc brakes Needs front driveshaft lengthened and re-installed Steering is still stock other than a borgeson steering shaft, but it actually steers really well! Has a spring lift in front (tuff country IRRC) with some ORD shackles. 2" blocks and shackle flip in the rear. 2-3" body lift. 38x15 TSL Radials with >90% tread (These stupid tires are like 450.00 each! but they do ride like butter for a big tire) Runs, drives stops and steers. I've had it on the highway going 60 with no problems. It gets about 5mpg so drive home at your own risk/cost! This thing actually has very little serious rust. I have seen much rustier blazers/jimmys restored. Someone started sanding and priming and I think it looks iknd of cool so have left it. What you see on the frame is surface rust. The only bad place is the underside of the rockers (see pics on photobucket), which you can easily buy replacements for. The rest is either just surface or can easily be addressed. All of the gauges work, as does the heater and fan. I have a really crappy hardtop (never tried to put it on) and a hard to find soft top that has some small tears, but can be worked with. They don't make soft tops anymore for these things. Does not need inspection in NC. This is a project that needs very little to complete and can be driven right now (if you can afford the gas)! More pics can be seen here http://s231.photobucket.com/albums/e...20GMC%20Jimmy/ http://s231.photobucket.com/albums/e...ken/?start=all Can include two-wheel drive steering box and sky manufacturing high steer arm for extra cash. I will consider trades for full size jeeps of similar value (wagoneer, cherokee, J10, J20, J2000, J4000, Gladioator) esp. 68-71 full size jeep with Buick 350 engine. On Jul-06-11 at 15:40:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I do also have the original dana 44 front and 12 bolt rear with 3.07 gears that can go with the truck if someone wanted to restore it.
