Welcome!!! Up for sale is a 1981 Mercedes Benz 380sl convertible. The car is in great condition and has 89,900 original miles. Many of the features including the paint, engine, and windshield are original and in great condition. We encourage interested buyers to come by and drive the car or bring their mechanic. This car drives beautifully and is very clean. Please take a look at the High-resolution pictures below to get a good view of the car. The car comes with most service records, original window sticker, hard top removal tool. This car was originally selling for around 40,000, which is adjusted by inflation to over $100,000 in today’s dollars. -Paint- This car has its original paint!! The paint is in excellent condition except around the drivers door where there are a few chips. A car cover will also will be included with the car. -Body- The body of this car is in excellent condition. The pictures do a great job of showing the clean, straight body of this car. Also, the bumpers of the car look very good. There is a small dent in the body around the front drivers door. This is the same place where there is a paint chip(mentioned above.) This is an easy fix and is the one flaw on this otherwise VERY clean body. -Soft top- The soft top of this car is in excellent condition. As you can see in the pictures, there are no rips or fading. Also, the soft top windows are clear(not clouded.) -Hard top- The hard top of this car is in great condition. The interior of the hard top also looks very clean and neat. -Windshield- The windshield of this car is original. It still has the original "Daimler"signature sticker on it. -Engine- The engine of this car is one of its very good selling points. The car including the engine, transmission, etc have only 89,900 original miles on it. Taking the car for a test drive or hearing it run, shows that the car’s engine has been very well taken care of. The car is also the most fuel efficient of any of the R107 model cars. It is convenient and affordable to use as a daily driver. -Seats- The drivers seat has a few tears in it and the passenger seat is in average condition(please refer to pictures.) -Dashboard- The dashboard is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or sun damage! -Center console- The center console of this car is one of the best I have seen on any SL. The wood has no cracks and is in excellent condition.(please refer to pictures) -Radio- The radio has been recently updated. The new system has a CD player and Ipod connection. Speakers sound very good. All in all, this is a great car with an exceptional base. The engine is terrific with very low original mileage and the car has many extraordinary selling points. In addition, this car has been continuously driven over the past 30 years. It has not been parked in a garage or neglected for years at a time. The car is averaging 3000 miles per year(89,900 total) and will definitely continue to be a survivor.
