Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 1978 185cc Honda Twinstar with 3800 actual miles that I purchased three years ago.. I am virtually the second owner as I purchased it from an antique "picker" who hoped to make a quick buck on it. However, his wife wanted the storage for their anitique furniture so I got it. He purchased it from the original owner, a gentleman in Muskegon Michigan who bought it new for his daughter to travel to Muskegon Community College, this is the reason for the low mileage. After two years she moved on to the University of Michigan, so the bike was sold. It is obvious that this bike has never been dropped as there are no scratches or dents on the tank, or any where else, the paint isn't even faded. There isn't even any bluing on the exhaust pipes either. Tires are at least 85%. The seat has no splits nor even any pulled threads. I didn't mess with a carb kit when I bought it, I put on an absolutely new carb on it, battery and plugs. It simply doesn't need anything else and is a turn key bike, start it and go. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say its a 9.5, it has very slight pitting on the front fender and and the usual aluminum discoloration on the from forks, but I pretty much have this all cleaned up. It has both a kick start and push button start. Everything works: head light (front and low beam), front and rear blinkers, tail light stoplight speedo and odometer. Oh, the horn didn't work, but I have a brand new on, just haven't put it on yet. The bike is a 4-speed with a top speed of 75-80 mph. Gas mileage is listed at 70mpg plus. I will be putting the bike up for sale locally, Thanks for looking.
