Vehicle Detail

This was a one owner car until I purchased it last year from a guy in Waco Texas. He purchased it new in 1959 and it never left Waco until last year. He told me that it had a rebuilt 350 in it. But when I got it, it had a rod knocking in it. so, I had a decision to make. Rebuild it or put a new engine in it. I decided that since it was a great old collectable car that you don.t see very often, that I would put a new engine in it. I purchased the engine from Carolina Engines. They build race engines for a lot of the race car drivers in the country. The engine dynoed on their dyno machine at 436 HP and 463 lbs of torque. dyno sheet provided with purchase. their web site is www.cmengines.com go their and read about how they build their engines. you will be impressed. If your really interested in this car, you have to go to cmengines.com and read about how they build these engines. they use all the best parts. I promise you that you will be impressed. The block is a 4 bolt main. with a 480 cam. I ordered it with the radical cam which would be a 510 or up, but for some reason, They built it with a 480. That may be a good thing though because this car has power steering and power brakes. I was concerned that the brakes might not have enough pressure to work so the 480 really is the best cam for this car. It really sounds good to. Their is less than 100 miles on this new engine. Just replaced the brake in oil. This car has every thing new or rebuilt in the drive train from the radiator back to the rear end. I believe the rear end is out of a ford but I'm not sure what ratio it is. The radiator is a new aluminum radiator with all chrome hoses and chrome radiator shroud.. the engine has all new components. Heavy duty fly wheel, heavy duty clutch and pressure plate, new high volume fule pump, new chrome water pump, new starter, new one wire chrome alternator. Chrome spark plug wire looms, Chrome power steering pump, Aluminum valve covers, MSD A6 ignition, external water temp guage on intake, fuel pressure guage, Two edelbrock 4 barrel carbs, chrome headers, Chrome hood hinges, Chrome brake booster, New Battery, New exhaust with glass packs. . The paint on a one to ten is about a 6 as is the stainless, I believe the paint is about 8 years old. so It's not perfect. If it was, I would be asking fifty grand for it. NADA high retail on this Impala is right at 70 grand.. The restoration on this car is not complete, so don't expect a number one show car because it still needs some work done on it. I just ran out of money. Thats why I'm selling it so cheap. No dents or dings in the paint. But, Their is a couple of rust bubbles over the right rear wheel well. Thats the only rust that I can find on the whole car. My body man says that he can fix the rust and paint it for a hundred bucks. But, I just forgot all about it. He has fixed other problems like this on a couple of other cars that I have had in the past, and you can't even tell that the problem was ever their. The windows work fine. Their is one bullitt missing on the grill on the drivers side. They do sell them at Impala Bobs. I just never got around to ordering one. I also have two overhaul manuals that go with it. Transmission is a fresh rebuilt Munci 4 speed, with a new balanced drive shaft. The tires and wheels are 20x10 Coys on the back with new low profile tires, and 18x8 Coys on the front. Disk Brakes on the front, drums on the rear. The bumpers are new one piece bumpers. the orginal ones were three piece. The interior is almost new with a Cadillac tilt steering collum with the orginal steering wheel. all new under dash guages with a new Tach on the side of the steering collum. All guages work, but the turn signals and horn still needs to be hooked up. Has a new AM FM Sterio radio from Bobs Impalas. Chrome tissue dispensor. The under carrage is in great condition. No rust, The headers came off the old engine and they have a little discoloring to them. also, the paint is oxidising up under the rear fins. it's hard to get that area painted properly. This car spent it's whole life in a very dry climate so their is no rust that I can see . I have never seen another 59 impala at any of the car shows that I have attended over the last 40 years. I did see one at a collector car dealership. but never at a car show. I did see one on Barrette Jackson one year and that one sold for over 60 grand. That is how rare they are. They just don't make cars like these anymore. I have right at 40 thousand tied up in this car and that does not include any labor. I'm only selling because I'm not working and I need to sell it. So get your bids in early. don't do like I usually do and put it in your watch list and then forget to get back to it. I have done that so many times its scary. Thanks for looking. NADA book value for high retail is close to 70 Grand, of course that is for one that is flawless. Plus that figure is for one that is all stock, this is considered to be a restomod which should make it even more valuable some times. But, it's not a number one. its a number 3. most cars at the car shows are number 3. a number two is almost a number one except its also a driver. number one's don't get driven. they are trailer queens. The optima battery crapped out so I installed a new battery, but it's not an optima. I did pay over a hundred bucks for it though. I also installed all bran new door weather seals. all the other weather seals look good. I also decided to replace the exhaust tips. they are 3 1/2 inch dia. I wish that I had racked off the pipes in the video. They sound really great. you can go to www.gatewayclassiccars.com and look at this car on their site. I had it listed with them, but was asking $35995, since it did not sell, I decided to try myself. They have a really good video of this car. I have lowered my reserve by two thousand dollars to make up for me failing to mention that the windshield has a crack in it on the drivers side, way left. I forgot about it because you can't see it because it's under the decal. out of site, out of mine so to speak. A new windshield installed is around 6 hundred dollars. I'm lowering my reserve price to compensate for that fact If your not happy with the car after you see it, I will give you your money back, less e-bay charges. I think that , that is a fair as I can be. Thanks much for your interest On Jul-01-11 at 11:26:44 PDT, seller added the following information: May take trades..I understand that money is tight, but, I'm still taking a beating letting this go for 14 grand less than I have tied up in it. I cant let it go for any less. I just have to much time, money and sweat in this car. Somebody is going to get a hell of a deal. this car is very rare. Let me know if you see anymore like this one with a 4 speed and a all new drive train.sure, it still needs a few things done, but, that's the fun of buying cars like this is to work on them and to make them better than when you bought it. On Jul-06-11 at 16:04:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok guys, here the deal. Money is tight right now because the economy is in the tank. Because of that, I have lowered the reserve down to around ten thousand dollars below what Gate Classic Cars was asking for it. I'm taking a huge beating and someone is going to get a great deal. I have almost 40 grand in it. But I need not only the money, but also the room. I have a 31 Dodge 3 window rat rod that is at my daughter right now because I don't have the room for it. If it does not sell this time around, I'm going to have to re-consign it with gatway and then the price will be at least 5 grand more than what you can buy it for right here. so, bid, bid. bid. now. you don't have much time left. don't let this deal get away from you.
