1987 Honda CR

Bike was totally rebuilt and would be very nice for a collector, the only way you could make it nicer is to replace some misalliance bolts (some I have done already) that have no sheen to them anymore + the REAR WHEEL (pic of it) has some of the gold off due to a cleaning accident I had with it, spokes/nipples are ok...look fine but lost some sheen to them so if you wanted this a absolute perfect collector bike I would replace spokes/nipples and have the rear wheel reanodized. FOR THE SHAPE THE BIKE IS IN I FEEL MY RESERVE IS SET LOW SO IT SELLS, THERE REALLY CAN'T BE TOO MANY IN THE COUNTRY LIKE THIS ONE, ACTUALLY I HAVE ONLY SEEN ONE AS NICE IN THE 3 YEARS THAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ON OCCASSION. Every part was hand cleaned and detailed as much as humanly possible. The following is the rebuild of whole bike ... 1) ENGINE.... bottom/top end brand new (pro engine technician rebuilt it), right side trans/waterpump casing (not clutch cover) brand new and no longer available, plastic ignition cover was replaced with metal one (see pic) and powedercoated it then and had the paint taken off "Honda" to make it look nicer, new water pump perpeller, ALL GASKETS/SEALS NEW , boyeson reeds installed ...new 2) FRAME&SUB ... better then new!! ...powder coated to stock color 3)SUSPENSION ... forks/shock all rebuilt by suspension tech, fork legs repolished with new oem fork boots 4)BRAKES ... new oem pads & fresh fluid, front hydraulic hose is aftermarket steel braided one 5) FOOTPEGS ...stock ones are junk by todays standards, brand new 01 Yamaha 426 ones bolted right on and look so much better, much WIDER too. 6) CHAIN/SPROCKETS&SWINGARM BUFFER ....quality RK XSO 520 nickel plated Xring chain, stock OEM front sprocket with Renthal rear sprocket ...stock gearing. Buffer is in good shape yet but I have a brand new one still in package. RK chain review, Fact # 5... http://www.quality-cycle.com/truth_about_motorcycle_chains.htm 7) PLASTIC ....front&rear fenders and L side panel new and are OEM, right side panel original with the black being repainted, front # plate is a UFO, radiator shrouds are original, have some minor scratches but for age look great yet 8) SWINGARM & LINKAGE BEARINGS .. all brand new oem were used, siwngarm was polished and new OEM decals applied 9) EXHAUST ... DG pipe is used but excellent shape, I repainted it satin black, DG muffler brand new, have stock pipe (one mild dent in it) and silencer yet. 10) AIR FILTER ...new, think it is a uni filter 11) CLUTCH ....plates,disc, springs new, I think I used OEM but not positive, may have been Barrnett 12) CARB ...cleaned inside and out, i think it has a bigger main jet 13) PLASTIC THROTTLE TUBE HOUSING ... new oem, very few available any more 14) HANDLEBARS ... just 7/8 renthals I believe, I noticed after installing them and putting on new OEM Honda grips that they have the slightest tweak in them, so very slight but new bars you may want to purchase for it although if just a collector I would just leave them be. 15) TIRES ... new of course, I was very selective with choice and went with front Dunlop 756 and rear Dunlop 952 16) SEAT & GAS TANK.... seat in great shape, no tears, tank very nice with only very mild scratches 17) LEVERS ...new oem EXTRAS ARE ....another gold rear wheel assembly (needs to be reanodized too) , original fenders+extra shrouds (dull& scratched), stock pipe (one dent)& silencer and radiators that are in great shape yet. <<<< Honda Service Manual also included >>>> WILL SHIP IF YOU make all the arrangements. 90% of this bike was rebuilt 3 years ago, I just completed OTHER 10% a month ago so IF I FORGOT ANYTHING BY ALL MEANS FEEL FREE TO ASK!!
