Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A VERY SHARP LOOKING ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING 1973 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH MACH I LOOK AND 66K MILES ON THE ODOMETER (BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL)! VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Factory Options: 1) Manual steering 2) Power DISC front brakes 3) Dual exhaust 4) Power Convertible top 6) Bucket seats w/floor shift 7) #s MATCHING 302ci 2V motor 8) Upgraded 4 Speed manual Transmission (formerly 3 speed) 9) Remote Mirror 10) Stock Polished Aluminum wheels with radial tires. 11) 3.00:1 rear axle ratio 12) Front and rear spoilers 13) Mach I appearance package The car comes from Illinois, where it has been collector owned and maintained. I've had it for a few months and basically just cleaned it up a bit. It had an older restoration sometime in the mid-late 1990s and has been kept garaged and used on occasion. This is what a Mach I convertible would have looked like, had Ford actually made such a model during any of its 69-73 run. Down to the correct polished aluminum wheels. Very reliable car that starts right up and will drive anywhere. Interior is in GOOD condition with minor general wear here and there. Seats are nice with minor wear and a small rip on driver's side lower left shoulder. Carpet is worn but presentable. Dash pad is good with one slight crack down the middle. Door panels in good shape with some wear by armrest areas. Good steering wheel. Convertible top is very good with NO rips (rear glass window needs to be resealed as it's coming loose). Overall a nicely presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood lies the stock MATCHING NUMBERS F-CODE 302ci 2V motor which is 100% bone stock from the looks of it. Starts easily and sounds great with minor exhaust leak . Good stock power overall and brakes stop VERY WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it right now without worries, just tune it the way you want and you're ready to go. I've driven it mostly around town here and there, and a few times on the highway on the way to a local cruise night or car show, never on any long trips. Underside looks very presentable on this car. Has had frame connectors welded to the frame for better structural rigidity. Looks like the entire underside was undercoated some time ago as well. Good floors with no big rust holes that I was able to see. Frame rails appear to be pretty decent overall. Shock towers and torque boxes still in one piece. Trunk pan has had some small patches and looks solid but could use detailing. Overall better than your average completely rusted out mustang underside in my opinion Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up NICELY with good luster for a presentable driver (NOT a showcar of course). Some minor imperfections here and there from use as you would expect like chips/small scratches/dings etc. Doors may need minot adjustment as the gaps are a little wide. Clutch travel is pretty high and although it shifts well I would eventually change it to be on the safe side. Rear bumper could use replacing. May need a couple of bulbs replaced and one or two of the smaller gauges not working well. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. OVERALL IT'S A VERY SHARP AND EYE CATCHING CRUISER THAT COULD EASILY BE A DAILY DRIVER WITH VERY MINOR TLC. HOP IN AND DRIVE IT WITH THE TOP DOWN AND ENJOY THE WEATHER AND FINISH RESTORING IT AS YOU SEE FIT. VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF A MATCHING NUMBERS 1973 FORD MUSTANG "MACH I TRIBUTE" CONVERTIBLE WITH 66K MILES ON THE ODOMETER!. Contact me at (917) 749-4302 cell or e-mail MBOTERASHV@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
