Vehicle Detail
Thanks for coming to check out my auction! Shown here is a '50 Ford Chopped Top Rat Rod (now with real-fire flames thanks to B.J. at Hagen Customs)! In the web-album, you can see a progressive series of photos of this car along the way from when it was stripped completely down to bare metal a couple years ago, to when it was just satin black, up until the present. The rest of the car still needs to be scuffed down and sprayed with a flat, or satin clearcoat to preserve the freshly laid down flames, but you are looking at the car as far as we've gotten with it. I have so many other projects, that I just don't have the time/energy to finish this one. It's one of the coolest cars we've ever had, and though the body work isn't perfect (there is some body-filler cracking toward the rear of the roof from being applied thickly, etc), the top chop was done well. All the hard work has already been done for you! Finish it how YOU like! It would make an easy project, and you could be cruisin' to the rat-rod shows this Summer in this sinister ride! The engine is the original flathead inline 6 with 3-speed on the column transmission. It turns over freely, and I heard it run briefly when I dribbled a little gas down the carburetor and cranked it over. It popped off, and ran for a few seconds, but the carb was/is off for a rebuild, and I still haven't put it back on yet. All the lights, and trim, etc are included with the car, but just removed presently and stored in the trunk and inside the car, etc. The curved back window is mounted solidly in place, but the other flat-glass needs to be cut and installed (plexiglass or lexan anyone?) It's easy to do being that there's no curvature to what's needed. This car would look great with a visor, some fender skirts, red painted wheels and wide whitewalls! Someone take this off our hands and finish it PLEASE. It deserves to go to a good home. You may e-mail me with questions, or call my son, Jason at (641) 512-5229. Chop Top '50 Ford By bidding on, or otherwise agreeing to purchase this vehicle, you acknowledge that it is being sold As Is with no warranty. I require a $250 security deposit within 5 days of auction's end either via PayPal, or money order sent to myself: Melody Stone, 516 N. Jefferson Ave., Mason City, IA 50401, and remainder of car to be paid for in full within 10 days. I ask that you bring cash for the remainder of payment if picking the car up in person. My son can assist with loading the car onto your trailer or auto-transporter. I have a good, clear title for this car in hand. Thanks for looking!
