Nice 1971 Dodge step side pickup truck in hot rod, or Rat Rod style. I have purchased this in 2007 and it was one of my projects to be. Never going to happen so time to sell. It has been in dry storage all this time and needs to be bought and driven or restored by someone else. Half ton truck is in very nice re-storable condition. Came out of the west, Idaho, so it is solid. The window gasket was leaking years ago and ruined the floor as you can see by the repairs. It was done fairly well and if you were to use as a rat rod you could put mats over it and be fine. Rockers and very bottom edges of doors and rockers show some light rust holes. Cab corners and mounts are fine, rear fenders are excellent and front fenders are very good with one older repair on lower left corner. Overall the rust work is minimal for an old truck like this. Engine bay is rust free, very clean. Wood floor in box is just about all gone but steel strips are still there. Again, no serious rust issues with the box either. Tail gate is not in good shape though, might need a new one. Lots of photos of the chassis and bottom end should show how nice this is. All four tires, 15 inch, are old but hold air and show almost 100% tread. Last owner installed them and drove it very little. The aluminum slots are in fantastic condition. Rear ones have a very deep dish and very wide. Old west coast mirrors installed and I don't have the original ones. CB antenna mounted to roof, will need minor repair. Glass is all here but not in great condition. Has some paint and a few careless grinder pits. Interior needs to be cleaned. Dash in OK condition, seat cover and foam rough but frame is still good. Odometer shows 48000 miles. Three speed automatic transmission will need to be rebuilt as the truck could barely limp two blocks to the storage unit.So you will have to tow drag or transport home. It will run good with some fresh gas and a jump start, as it ran fine when we drove/limped to storage. Engine is a 318 with two barrel carb. About the only problem with the engine is the distributor had a slight wobble to it. Bent shaft?? I will guess that the brakes will need some work as well so plan on this.
