This is a excellent example of a California car with rust free shock towers,rockers,heater channels floors and overall this car needs no rust repair or body work. The engine is the highlight of the car. The overall condition of the car is quite good for being 40 years old . I have seen my fair share of beetles and super beetles convertibles that did not hold a candle to this one with no rust repair or body work needed. ENGINE; 1835cc This engine has only test miles of around 300 miles and runs flawlessly with a 2 barrel WEBER carb. The engine started as a 1600cc stock engine case that was line bored and new crankshaft,rods all barrings, lifters.cam, big bore jugs,pistons and matching heads were used. the push rod geometry was already done and this car sounds like a million bucks and runs ever better. the tranny is a 4 speed manual and there is a brand new clutch installed last week. If you were just buying the engine alone and for a second lets not even think about the car ,you would have to spend $2,580.00 just for the motor and were are not even talking distrubator,carb, and all the little stuff and this one does have polished aluminum intake and chrome valve covers and other add on's making it look quite attractive. I will mention that if you are new to buying these classic beetles /air cooled beetles they do not sound ,feel or handle like cars of today which is one main reason why they are so popular ,there is nothing like a beetle. And lets not forget your getting 30 mpg plus driving around in a classic that is only going to go up in value. The interior is is surprisingly good condition for being 40 years old. The seats look original ,but the front door panels are new as well as new carpet was installed. There is also a new Black convertible top that has the back window already installed and is a great economical way to have a new top and look great with no rips tear or faded and looking dingy The paint is new and is shiny , but not one of those $4000 paint jobs. It would be more in line with a Macco paint job and it does have a nice appearence. This car would need the front winshield replaced and I can do that for you for $124.00 over winning bid. There are of course imperfections and I'm offering this at no reserve so when the bidding is over everyone understands you are bidding against other bidders and not me . this is a auction and needs to be treated like one. Terms:Deposit of $500.00 sent immediatly by paypal after auctions end A phone call immediatly at the end of auction at 805-423-4559 no later then 1 hour from end of auction to work out the fine details. If no phone call the day of auctions end or 1 hour after I reserve the right to relist the car or offer a second chance offer.Full payment in 3 days from auctions end by bank wire transfer or in this case no later then Monday morning June 20,2011 if no payment the deposit will be kept and the car will be either relisted or offered to the second chance offer. The car is 40 plus years old and being sold as is and all sales are final. The car is located in Paso Robles California . If you are a California bidder you must view the car prior to bidding if in paying with cash or planning on coming after auctions end without viewing the car . . I can deliver the car anywhere in California as long as I am paid in full so you do not have to worry about making 2 trips but it is not fair to lets say a buyer from Germany or someone in New York who has no chance of viewing the car and then someone comes and wants to talk the price down or kick the tires . This practice is not fair and I will make time for all to check the car over and will video or picture and send every last inch of the car prior to the end of auction if asked. Also you can feel free to send an independent inspector in your place and at your cost. It really boils down to my feedback speaks for itself so bid also with confidence ,you are protected by ebay protection plan up to $50,000.00 as I am verfied with ebay and paypal unlike some other sellers that are not verified or have bad feedback. There was different exhaust and different alternator in the picture . I have updated the engine picture with a running video that shows much better how awsome this engine runs.
